The young engineer giggled to her companion as she shook the spray can up and down. “Chekov told me this spray will come off with water, Keenser. Montgomery Scotty does not know that, so we will give him a wee fright,” she whispered as quietly as she could to the other engineer. He gave her a snicker as she began to spray graffiti on the main engineering control panels.
She began to write “Jaylah was here” on the panel, and she couldn’t keep the bubbly laughter flowing out of her as she finished, but the look of confusion from Keenser made her frown for a moment. “I saw this in comedy movie last night with Chekov,” she explained, her giggles returning. The other prankster shrugged it off and began writing other obscenities on the panels, and drawing a few pictures that Jaylah didn’t quite understand.
She didn’t get to ask about them, however, because she suddenly heard familiar boot heels clicking toward the engineering room. “He is coming!” Her warning was meant to be hushed, but it was more or less just a quiet yell.
