Got through the Scorpion Soup - tomato soup infused with a few small pieces of a Trinidad Scorpion chilli. I couldn’t detect any heat at all at first, but as I ate more a mild burning started to build slowly in my mouth. I think I next time I will put more in, but for now this was a good introduction to it.
Of course, as I neared the end of the dish, I was compelled to touch a piece of the chilli with my tongue, and as a result this the tip of my tongue feels slightly numb nearly ten minutes later. Unpalatable in my opinion!
Going for the Trinidad Scorpion Chilli soup. These chillies have been in my freezer for almost a month. Cut less than half off one of the chillies, sliced it into 3 pieces and mixed it into the soup. Leaving it to infuse for a few hours, and will be trying it later on. This is definitely only an infusion - I will not be ingesting the pieces of Trinidad Scorpion chilli, which are apparently 1.2 million on the Scoville scale...
Still no chilli cravings whatsoever. However when I do get them, I am going to infuse some soup - for several hours - with 1 of (or part of one of) the terrifying Trinidad Scorpion Chillies which have been in my freezer for the best part of a month, and then strain the soup so that I do not actually ingest any of the chilli. I think this will add a lot of heat, but still leave it "enjoyable", instead of "painful" like my recent Ghost chilli experience.
