This is a really nicely structured story by the always lovely Holly. If you aren't already, you should be following her! I have included her personal blog and her marauder's era fic blog above for your viewing pleasure. This story is one of her older pieces and doesn't feel quite as polished as her more recent stuff, but it's still an excellent interpretation of Scorpius and Rose's relationship. I like that each chapter shows them in a different point in their lives (Hogwarts, post, etc). Most fics are either during Hogwarts are after, and this one jumps around, which I like.

Rose is begging her parents to let her best friend (and boyfriend) Scorpius stay with them for the winter holidays. Ron is (of course) against it, but Hermione seems to understand that "sometimes, you can't help who you fall in love with."

I like this story for the most part, although I think it characterizes Ron a little bit too harshly. While I do believe that Ron would heavily protest Rose dating a Malfoy, I think this author went a tiny bit too far with it. I know the author is suggesting that Ron simply would not want ANY boy dating his daughter, and he is just using the Malfoy as an excuse to be against it, but I'm not sure if I'm totally convinced that this is how he would act. I can't wait to read more chapters of this story!

"I know."

"Thanks for understanding."

Hermione held Rose close. "I understand that sometimes, no matter how hard you fight it, you can't help who you fall in love with."
