there is this post that I made a while ago on body positivity and how it never includes disabled people (in my case scoliotic) and it still gets some attention as it pops up in my notifications that someone liked it or whatever from time to time but while I still agree with my main point (so I ain’t deleting it) I’m kind of embarrassed over it so that I don’t even want to comment under that one but I don’t think being ‘pretty’ in the social norm standard is that important anymore - it obviously helps you in life as you’re more likely to get a job or people tend to like you more - but I don’t even want my appearance to be the key to get those things, I feel like what’s inside of you is way more important than what you look like and I don’t really find myself ugly anymore and no, I don’t hate my body. I’m kind of embarrassed of what I used to think of myself in my younger teens because that is so shallow and there are far more important stuff. Not having self confidence and at least some sort of kindness towards yourself is one of the most self-destructive things you can do. I never want to be an example of such behaviour. Both for myself, and for my ‘target audience’. So yes, I have a fucking severe scoliosis but boom - you can still accept yourself and live past that. because living is about something else.
Teacher: Ok class, we're gonna go around the room and share something interesting about ourselves
Samantha: I met Beyoncé once
Todd: I can play the piano
Billy Bob: I have a talking parrot
Me: I have 2 titanium rods and 22 screws drilled into my spine :-)
Me: I have scoliosis People: oh man multiple sclerosis sucks Me:

Spinal fusion is something extremely painful to go through
So when we smile, it means a lot. What is something that made you smile while you were recovering? Mine was having tons of friends at my house for months straight 😁
