I don’t know which 20 year old with grade 1 anterolisthesis on here needs to hear this… but do not get a spinal fusion for a grade 1 slipped disc. please stop and reconsider.
put off getting a spinal fusion surgery until you’ve exhausted literally every other treatment you can try
the long-term complication rate of spinal fusions is through the roof
they will not warn you that you will probably need more spine surgery within 10 years. multiple revisions are on the table in your lifetime. it’s not the fast fix orthopedic surgeons sell it as. I can guarantee you won’t be pain-free either.
it’s largely irreversible. many people regret their fusions. hardware fails. I can’t even sue the manufacturer of either types of my hardware despite them failing because the statute of limitations has passed. many surgeons won’t work on my case either.
