The mercury crazed mad scientist Mixed together a love potion. He mixed chemicals with kisses on her apartment rooftop, peptides with the feeling of her fingers tangled in his messy hair, bringing him close, warm lips moving on lips and hearts beating in harmony, serotonin, oxytocin, dopamine- eyes wild with longing and withdrawal and desperate hope. He bottled the pink-tinged concoction, shoved it in the freezer, and curled up on the kitchen counter, cradling his aching chest. His lab coat was stained red, gold, magenta- liquid dripping out from the hole in his chest. crimson-tinged tears poured from his jaundiced yellow eyes, blue veins showing stark on his papery skin. The lovesick mad scientist and his frail, ruined body shook from desperation for a simple cure. His long fingers popped open a cracked vial, held it to his chapped lips, and downed the love potion in a single gulp, gripped with reckless desperation. But all he found were memories of her. Memories of her tucking her short hair behind her ears, toying with the pendants on her neck, looking at him with that playful sparkle in her wide, innocent eyes. All he saw was _her, her, her, her_ but she was gone and he was sick and nothing could ever bring her back. He downed the love potion, and imploded. Yet another failed aspiration.
