I always thought The whole Max and Micheal Schumacher relationship was cute, with Max calling him Uncle Michael, going on vacations together, little Max not even realizing how big this man is in F1. (Also him and Mick “growing up together, at times (literal quote from an interview) is the perfect fanfic scenario, why is no one doing anything with it?)
But because of you I just had the dirtiest thought about the two of them. I want to have never thought that thought, this ruined me forever (yes, I’m dramatic, deal with it <3)
Anyway, there was this post on twitter the other day from when Michael and Jos were teammates at Benetton. They kind of looked like a boyband (I will put the link below). Now after reading your post, the picture popped into my head and I was immediately like - secret relationship!
Max and Michael having an affair, no one can know because of the age difference, Mick being Max’s best friend(,Max literally growing up calling Michael uncle, etc. But one day, Max is careless and he is wearing Michael’s old Benetton sweatshirt when Mick comes in. He compliments the sweater ‘cool sweater, my dad has one just like that’ and Max is panicking but Mick doesn’t notice ‘guessing your dad still has his one too’. Max is so relieved he can’t do more than nod. So later on Mick goes searching for his dad’s old sweater because wouldn’t it be cool if him and Max replicated the photo of their dads? Of course he can’t find it, duh Max is wearing it. Somehow Jos turns up (don’t ask me from where) and Mick tells him how he was ‘looking for his dad’s old Benetton sweater and …’ Jos leaves in the middle of his sentence, rude. A minute later he comes back with his sweater. ‘Here, not sure what you wanted it for but this is mine’. Mick’s confused because wasn’t Max just wearing his dad’s sweater? He could have sworn his best friend was wearing it when he left to watch a movie with Michael. He says as much to Jos and it takes a moment, then the two of them look at each other and just go ‘no, that’s not possible, no no no! Absolutely not!’ Sweet denial.
