Online learning rant
I am speaking as a parent here.
Everyday after school I get notifications from my son’s teacher about what he has to do. I also sit near him, in the dining area, cuz he cannot sit still. Moving on.
Our daughter, on the other hand, has the room to herself. They have multiple teachers so I call her over to see what is due. When school first started, she got almost ten assignments immediately and her teacher said not to worry, it was for in class: videos, learning material, copies of the books and such. That she wasn’t giving out homework yet.
YET!
So I soon notice her teacher posting stuff in the DUE section. ‘Due Friday’. Awesome. Like 1 thing a week.
Decided she should do this Friday’s assignment early so she could relax and be able to watch a movie or two, without worry. It was a 14 page lesson, straight from the book. Confused, I messaged her and emailed her during office hours.
Only NOW does she message me, before we send our kids to bed and tell me that in the assignment she wrote additional directions for certain pages to be due certain day, starting yesterday. Also that they are up to 25 assignments and she only turned in 1
WHY am I going to go through my daughter’s assignments, if she puts out 1 thing is due Friday and that the other stuff s covered in class? Why put Friday if it’s due Tues, Wed, and Thurs, but NOT Friday?
