thank you for the ask :D these two are my secret weakness!! also I’ve never written them before, so I hope I can give them justice~

“Dare I ask?” Eris drawls, leaning against the wall. If the Drifter weren’t too busy pulling out Stasis shards from his bandaged hand, he would surely have commented on Eris’ half-hidden smile.

“Dare if you like, Three-Eyes, but the answer may not be as reasonable as you like.”

“Reasonable? You?”

The Drifter chuckles, and Eris sighs. He recognizes that sound with secret endearment. It is the sigh that Eris makes when he does things on purpose to vex her and watch her berate him. The sigh that she makes when the Drifter is being foolish, but she knows him too well to react with overcharged concern.

“You must exercise caution with this power,” Eris says, approaching the Drifter. Her hands brush against his palm as she plucks out another icy shard. It crumbles between her fingers, leaving nothing but cold dust. “It would be worrisome to have you hurt by the Darkness.”

“I was hurt by it a long time ago,” Drifter grunts, brushing away memories of too many years he has lived. “I can deal with it just fine.”

Eris gives no response, instead takes over the removing of the shards where they are stuck in supernatural adherence. If there is blood to be drawn or pain to be released, the Drifter makes no sign of it, biting on his tongue if the pain does come.

“What were you trying to do?” she asks at last when the comfortable silence eases into a no less comfortable conversation.

“Would you laugh if I say that I tried to make a gauntlet? Superhero stuff, for ultimate Stasis punching?”

Eris does laugh, looking up at the Drifter. He looks back, never failing to be mesmerized by the rare smiles she gives. In fact, he wonders if he is the rare one to be privy to Eris Morn’s occasional happiness.

“I will make a guess it didn’t work.”

“No, and that’s a perfect example of how not to do things. I’ll try again though,” the Drifter says, his hand still resting between Eris’ palms. “If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be the Drifter.”

“No, but you would still be the foolish rat as you are.”

To that, the Drifter has no objections.

Uh.. genuinely countless amount lol. I mean like.. easily over 20-30 lol. But those that I’m actually working on from time to time? I would say 4-5!

2. What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise)

Still trying to finish The Song of Achilles audiobook, and then I need to read Cruel Prince by Holly Black, it’s been on my shelf for 2 years... D:
