The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) processes Applications for Permanent Employment Certification, also known as permanent labor certifications. For certain jobs, DOL has determined that there aren't enough qualified U.S. workers available. These jobs are called Schedule-A occupations.  To qualify for this category, a foreign national must possess exceptional ability and must have achieved widespread acclaim in his/ her field of endeavor.
