Peter had been fucking around with his pack, and Derek hadn't even been aware of it. Derek had trusted him (which was always the mistake and still he never learned from it) and hadn't even thought to keep tabs on him despite Deaton's warning. And now apparently he and Tyler -- or, whatever was possessing Tyler -- were working together. Which, if Erica was right, meant that Tyler was going to restore Peter's strength. Derek had barely been able to kill him the first time -- if the thing in Tyler was as strong as he made himself out to be, then they may as well kiss any chances of surviving this good-bye.

They'd only just dodged a bullet with Gerard, and yet they could not catch a break.

Derek decided that going to Stiles' house on foot rather than driving would do him some good, give him the chance to breathe for a minute. Between Tyler and Gerard, Jackson becoming a werewolf, Isaac and Lucy having a thing now, and Erica being put off by said thing, Derek was pretty damn positive he was going to go grey before thirty. And on top of all that something was up with Stiles, which Derek suspected had to do with Lydia and Jackson getting back together.

He was definitely not cut out for all of this. Killing his uncle was easier than having to deal with high school drama.

Derek scaled the side of the Stilinski residence and tapped on the window to let Stiles know he was there instead of just going in (he knows how much Stiles hates that) before sliding through. A scent that wasn't Stiles permeated the air. Derek cocked his head then asked, "Was Erica here?" before mentally kicking himself.
