I still don't know what to do with the idea in my head about Scara/Aether, where Aether, after his sister goes missing, simply shrugs and decides she'll cope and be found. (Because he's several millennia old, he's tired, and this is his vacation until they escape to another planet.)
Of course, these are good thoughts about trusting her, until he learns that she's been messing with the Order of the Abyss and interfering in Teyvat's affairs. Then he simply thinks, "Well, screw you, you'll come back when you've come to your senses," and simply goes traveling. Only without any help or interference in the Archons' affairs. He literally just wanders all over Teyvat, meeting the previous generations (parents, grandparents) of some of our familiar characters.
And of course, he meets Scara when he's not in the best of health. Out of the kindness of his heart, he nurses him back to health. He tolerates his antics and words. And then he interjects, "Shut up already, I helped you once, then you can go wherever you want," which Scara greatly appreciates (he stops acting like a stray cat while bathing), and they part ways.
Until, of course, they meet again anywhere else, and that's how many times they'll meet.
Friendship begins when you feed a stray cat regularly, not just once. Yeah.
