Can you write up a list of what you specifically dislike about SC season 6? Curious to know your thoughts…
i am putting negativity under the cut. please i implore you to ignore this if you don’t want to feel sad. you have been warned.
first of all every time they say “it’s been three years” my head explodes
ted and alexis’ breakup fucked me up man. it really fucked me up. it did not need to happen like that. alexis rose is one of my all-time most favorite characters in the history of television and i love her with my whole entire heart but she deserves better. she should not have had to pick between her relationship and her career. she could have had both. she deserved both. she grew so much especially in season 4 and i’ve been really disappointed with how they handled her and ted after they got back together. i guess in hindsight that was meant to make us feel better about them inevitably breaking up but that was not the case. it just felt like they were done so dirty and it breaks my heart.
david and patrick keep having lil arguments and disagreements this season. that’s fine occasionally but it’s happening like every episode they’re together and now with the whole moving to new york thing i am just really stressed.
stevie needs to get away from the motel. stevie needs to get away from motels in general. she is not a “businesswoman”. did you see her in cabaret??? didn’t we all experience an awakening inside of her???? where the fuck did that go??? my personal headcanon was that moira gets stevie a job on a soap. if that was never gonna happen, there were so many other things for her to do. the one thing i really didn’t want for her was to be stuck with the motels forever. and sure that’s what connects her with johnny and roland and it all feels full circle and blah blah blah whatever i just personally feel like she has so much more inside of her than being a “businesswoman” 🙄
moira has really regressed. that was obvious from the second she locked herself in the closet at the end of 514 but it’s really sad to see. she is right back where she was in season 1, desperate to get out. and of course she is, she’s moira rose, she doesn’t belong in schitt’s creek. i get that. but it feels to me like any semblance of love or affection she’s ever shown for the town or the people in the town is just completely gone and she’s right back where she started. and it makes me sad.
i think dan and i just have different ideas of what a good final season consists of. i think it means making every character the best version of themselves and making fun happy episodes to leave the audience with a sense of contentedness and satisfaction. and he thinks it means giving all of the most beloved characters difficult challenges to overcome and in some cases, giving closure, and in others, not. and maybe in the last two episodes he can change my mind about all of this and make me appreciate these journeys he has put us on, but as of now i just feel sad.
