19 yrs ago today, 4.15.03, Fleetwood Mac unleashed “Say You Will”, their 17th studio album. • 1st studio album after 87’s “Tango In The Night” with both Stevie and Lindsey but without Christine McVie (backing vocals on 1 song). • 1st studio album w/ Buckingham back in the band. • Last Fleetwood Mac studio album. ———— Fleetwood Mac’s “Say You Will” contained 18 tracks • 9 by Stevie, • 9 by Lindsey. A limited edition was also released with 2 live tracks "Peacekeeper" & "Say You Will", + 2 studio tracks (Nicks' "Not Make Believe" and Buckingham's cover of Bob Dylan's "Love Minus Zero/No Limit" ———- The first single released was “Peacekeeper”. It reached #80 on Billboards Hot 100 singles chart and #10 on the Adult Contemporary Chart. 18 years ago today, April 15, 2003, Fleetwood Mac released “Say You Will”, their first studio album after 1987’s “Tango In The Night” plus significantly, their first studio album without Christine McVie as part of the Rumours 5 (although she is on a couple of tracks). This was a massive album by 2003 standards, with 18 tracks (9 written by Stevie, 9 by Lindsey). A deluxe edition was also released that contained 2 live tracks “Peacekeeper” and “Say You Will”, plus Stevie’s “Not Make Believe” and Lindsey’s cover of the Bob Dylan track “Love Minus Zero / No Limit” (which is beautiful). A world tour followed its release along with a live DVD release in the spring of 2004. Also in 2004 the documentary film “Destiny Rules” aired on VH1 and was released on DVD in Sept, 2004. A lot of great material here, Christine even appears on a couple of Lindsey’s tracks even though she had retired in 1998. “Steal Your Heart Away” and “Bleed To Love Her” were originally intended for a Lindsey solo album but he decided to roll them into this project and Christines parts were already recorded so with her permission they kept her vocals on. A limited edition version of the album was also released that contained a bonus disc with 2 live tracks and 2 studio tracks. . Look for it if you haven’t heard it.
