Really important
I have finals this week and next. I have a lot to do AKA a bibliography with annotations, reading a novel, and two more papers. Therefore, I am not going to be on much. Katie could recall the last time she had seen Drew crystal clear. It had been for a weekend three months previous, and she had spent every waking moment with him. She could recall the way her heart pounded in the chest the moment she saw him, and how she threw her arms around him like it was the last time she was going to see him. Truth was, it could easily have been the last time. Katie knew dating someone in the military came with the risks that he could never come home. One day that call could come that she had dreaded saying that he had been killed and just like that...her entire world would have changed. However, she would not allow herself to think in any negative manner. Drew was going to come home someday soon, and they would finally be able to start their lives together. Even though the Skype session the night before had been short, Katie was feeling much better knowing that her boyfriend was safe and there was a chance he could be returning home soon.
Maya was babbling on and on and driving as Katie sat beside her in the passenger seat, headed to pick up Maya's boyfriend from the airport. She was happy her sister had found someone she loved, and she would never hold it against her sister. Katie just did not enjoy having to listen to all of the plans Miles and Maya made while Drew was about a million miles away fighting for their country. She knew it was sacrifice to date someone in the army because she did not get to see him everyday, but it was still a disappointment when she saw other couples getting the chance to be happy and felt like she was missing out. All Katie could say was, "I am really happy for you, My," in a low tone and stare out the window for the rest of the drive to the airport. Even as she walked with her sister into the terminal, she was still distracted by thoughts of how much she wished she was here because it was Drew finally coming home.
"Katie, hello, are you alive?" Maya asked, waving a hand in front of her face and causing her to snap back to reality again. Katie tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and nodded at her sister. "Yes, I am fine. Sorry. I didn't sleep." She glanced around the airport, noticing there were more people than normal. There were even a few people gathered near the area where people exited off the planes. Curiosity piqued, Katie craned her neck to see what all of the excitement was about. She assumed it was probably just some family reunion or important event happening. Still, perhaps it would be nice to see something positive to get her mind off of Drew even just for a few moments. "I wonder what all of the excitement is about," she remarked to her sister as she made her way through the crowded terminal to discover for herself what exactly was going on.

Damn, I lost half my notes for Sociology.
I can't believe this! I took the notes today and they're already lost. It makes no sense. Freshman year of college is not going so hot right now.

Katie: Okay, so, I've only been here half a day and I already have gotten lost five times. How is that even possible? Also, the fact that you're the most helpful person I've met is slightly alarming. Everyone else I've asked for help has either been rude or asked me out on a date when they don't even know my /name/.
Katie: I'm not kidding. I introduced myself to some guy and he interrupted telling me he didn't care about my name. Is this the norm around here or something?
The fact that I'm almost 17 years old and have never been to an actual public school before is a little sad...Â
It's even more pathetic that I actually have no idea what to expect.
