After the dazzling victory at Ajnadayn, the Muslim armies march north and siege Dimashq. To isolate the city, Khalid cuts the lines of transport and communication to the north of Syria. The generals of the different corps have the mission to repel any attempt at Byzantine exit of the different gates.
