To be completely honest, I’ve never really cared about Article 13 before, but after I found out more about it with Matpat’s new video, I have one thing to say:

PROTECT THE INTERNET, BITCHES.

Article 13 could have devastating effects on the Internet as we know it, specifically social media sites like YouTube, Twitter, Tumblr, AO3, etc. Millions of jobs will be lost, and our right to creating our own content would be almost entirely stolen away. The final vote to pass it will be held in January-practically only a month from now. And, statistically, it is VERY likely to pass unless we all do something, NOW. 

This is worse than Net Neutrality, guys-practically the only people that will be able to upload content would be large companies and corporations, and all individual creators will become a thing of the past. This is an issue of Internet freedom, people- the Internet will just become an endless void of advertisements by greedy companies looking to earn more unnecessary money. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD- DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO HELP, EVEN IF YOU DON’T LIVE IN THE EU!!!! Sign petitions, protest, talk to your MEPs if you live in the EU!!! Do as much as you can to protect the Internet!!!!

Hello fellow europeanS, as you may know the EU Parliament is on the way to aprove the fearsome Article 13 which is a part of a larger article about copyright and makes it basically ilegal to use any kind if content that was not exclusively made by yourself. This means, NO MORE MEMES, NO MORE FANVIDEOS, NO MORE USE OF IMAGES, TEXT OR ANY SORT OF INFORMATION FROM WITH OR ABOUT OTHERS. This also means that any kind of content that someone (for example a politician/industry) doesn´t like can be sued.

In other words: THIS IS AN ARTICLE ABOUT CENSORSHIP, AGAINST FREE SPEECH AND JOURNALISM!!!!
