Ode to the Cove
One of the things I like most about the cove is that it is on campus yet it is not a campus building. I believe that it is unfair, not only to the patrons of Mt. Vernon, but also for the students of Kenyon. Additionally, the Cove remains a safe and central gathering place for students to hang out on the weekends and weekdays. Particularly because there are so few night life establishments on campus, and going into town (when students were in intoxicated) would be unsafe due to the distance between Kenyon and Mt Vernon, students will simply stay out later and hold larger gatherings late at night. The Cove also provided students with a central location to meet other students during the night. It helped to create a common place for students to meet other students and to relax at the end of the night.
