Man we are getting so PUMPED for the competition this Friday. You don't understand! But if you are coming, you will understand. Imagine you had an idea, like birthing a unicorn, then you met with some other people who wanted to help you birth this unicorn, amazing right? Well in short, that pretty much sums it up. We're birthing unicorns this Friday...and what makes it even better? A lot of the bodysurfing community has stepped up and helped make this possible. We've been calling in favors like crazy and people have been delivering.
I am humbled a little bit to see people working together for something they are passionate about. There's no money. There's no personal gain. There's no fame. People just want to see something bigger than themselves take place, so they make it a reality. Fuck yeah.

what's going on here you ask? I'm actually getting my first pedicure and manicure after a day at Wedge. We were turned down by a few shops before they would even take our money. I walked in fully clothed and asked to get a manicure and they said fine...then I took my pants off and they turned us away...ha ha!
We finally got to this shop and they were accommodating...sort of. They gently placed a towel over my turbo and legs to which I replied "Thank you." and quickly placed the towel behind my head as though they were just handing me the towel and not placing it in a specific spot. Honestly, my hands and feet felt great after these. The hardest thing was to not laugh and smile while it was happening and a photographer was shooting.

I remember this wave. That's me in the beginning of the video looking at the wave thinking "I don't known. I'm pretty deep but I think I might be able to make this one."
Then I look back to make sure nobody is going on this wave, and there is Lewis taking off WAAAAYYYYY deeper than me and taking this closeout for the chicks. I was thinking, "Damn. Lewis is crazy. I'm definitely not going to cut him off."
I swam up to him after this wave and told him to be careful taking off on a giant closeout. This isn't wedge. It's reef, not sand. He simply replied "I'm good. You see how big that barrel was?"
Yeah Lewis. That was a fucking big barrel.
