Well, I am not surprised by this at all!

The return of an avowed neo-Nazi to Twitter under Musk’s guarantee to reinstate banned accounts reinforces the concerns brought forth by civil society groups and advertisers over his handling of content standards on the platform. Under Musk, prominent white nationalists including Patrick Casey and Richard Spencer have reportedly been reinstated or been able to verify their accounts through Twitter’s recently launched pay-for-verification scheme.

Travis Brown has receipts & it is an eye opener.

Right now I am busy trying to setup as many sites as possible for when (not if) Twitter gets banned. I have been debating about “pulling back” from Twitter, & I have for awhile, but I feel like if I retreat then it will only give space towards the haters.

Karen Attiah typed up an interesting opinion piece for the Washington Post:

I agree that staying on Twitter to engage in battles with trolls isn’t “resistance.” But building community and mobilizing resources are.


Twitter is probably the only global digital platform where elite institutions and powerful individuals share space with marginalized people, including the working and lower classes. It has the power to quickly focus enormous amounts of attention on crucial issues.

Perhaps we should pull a Picard & fight for “the ship.”
