Here are a few things I've realised after the ongoing issue —
Something that I realised recently is that Scott and Scooter are so toxic and narcissistic that, they bully Taylor offline and try to control & manipulate her by not letting her use her own songs that SHE wrote. But, they portray themselves as "holy" and "innocent" while on social media. They play the victim and pretend to be the bigger person by congratulating Taylor on her album release day. Seeing this, a third party who doesn't know too many details regarding the ongoing issue would believe that Taylor is the one who holds the grudge and is a crazy woman. Throughout the entire exchange, they make it seem like Taylor is the "crazy maniac" while they're nice people.
This is a very classic narcissistic trait ; narcissists in order to escape from being blamed or being held accountable, try to pretend to be nice and be the big person just so people would end up supporting them and go against the person who is actually right (in this case — Taylor)
Another one, Shawn Mendes doesn't hesitate to drop Taylor's name while doing interviews, M&Gs and everywhere in general. Taylor has literally bolstered him and supported him throughout his career and even collaborated with him. But, when asked about the ongoing issue he chooses to remain very diplomatic and answers the questions very superficially and proceeds as if nothing ever happened. He hasn't been vocal about the ongoing issue at all and always plays the diplomat - doesn't take any sides.
Also, Ed Sheeran who Taylor has supported immensely and has been quite close to Taylor is no where to be seen during these issues. When asked about it, he once replied that they were talking on the phone. I was disappointed.
Throughout the entire issue, NO MEN. Literally, NO MAJOR MALE ARTIST has supported Taylor vocally. There have been various small artists and multiple women who have voiced their concerns regarding this issue and stood up for Taylor, which I'm very grateful for. But, NO MALE A-LIST ARTIST has until now stood up for her and taken her side. Taylor has fought for so many small artists and supported so many people in the industry.
Why is this important you ask? Because, two powerful men in the industry (Scooter & Scott) are trying to control and manipulate a huge artist like Taylor Swift and instead of standing up for her and bolstering her, at such a hard and crucial moment ; male stars choose to remain diplomatic? Just to save their reputation and make sure they don't lose their stardom in doing so is absolutely shameful. I am beyond disgusted and disappointed. The same people who are now quiet are the ones who would kiss Taylor's ass and suck up when they need clout.
As much as I respect each and every artist's privacy and reasons to not be vocal about this issue, I cannot STRESS ENOUGH about how much support Taylor needs right now from the people who "claim" to always love and support her. Imagine the predicament of small and rising artists if this is how Taylor Swift - the artist of the decade is being treated.
