Most people don't know that Garfield's name is actually an abbreviation.
You see, Garfield was born in a litter with six other kittens, each of them had names like Larfield, Warfield, Sarfield, etc because they each represented one of the seven deadly sins, and their names were short for things like Lust Arfield, Wroth Arfield, Sloth Arfield, etc, and Garfield of course means Gluttony Arfield (his, brother Greed Arfield eventually dropped the Arfield entirely and now goes by Greedler).
