It's so exciting to watch you react to Supergirl because you react the same way I do, a lot of gleeful arm flailing on my end:) What do you think about Maggie's face at the end of the Sanvers hug? Some people said she looked worried or off and I noticed it too.
I think she is worried, she is worried about her worries before that she overlooked because âlife is too shortâ. And that âfresh off the boatâ relationships never work and Alex is so important to her that she is worried. Her worries of âi donât think youâre ready for thisâ. She is worried that Alex is not ready to be in a relationship and she cares about Alex to much for things to not work out due to âjumping in too soonâ. She is worried to get her heart invested even more because when Alex told her âthis is a mistake..you have to goâ you can see how much it hurt Maggie. You could see her heart sink into her chest and the tears starting to push to the surface before she made her exit saying, âOkay, got it. See you, Danversâ . So, she is worried and is fighting a battle with herself. If she loses Alex, it will break her. She doesnât meet many people she cares about, and she cares about AlexâŚa lot.Â
Do you have any thoughts about how Maggie and Alex acted in the interrogation room when Alex kinda crashed in? I especially loved Maggie's face when Alex kissed her cheek lol
Well when Alex walks in Maggie takes a defensive stance, with her arms crossed. I think Maggie is a little caught off guard by the way Alex is acting. After Alex says, âââŚa heads up next time would be nice before you arrest my friendâ, Maggieâs response is exactly how I would assume from level-headed Maggie âCome on, you know thatâs not how this works. I donât intervene with your job and you donât question mineâ.Â
Alex is in the wrong here. It sounds like they have discussed this issue before and agreed to stay out of each otherâs work; not to mention if anyone should understand Maggieâs job and what it entails, it SHOULD be Alex.
I also think that Maggie feels a bit guilty that she didnât give Alex a little headâs up (even though she wasnât obligated to) and that is why she gives in. She truly believes Winn is innocent and she needs help so she lets Winn go with Alex.Â
After it is all said and done, Maggie is a tad defeated. It doesnât feel good to have people undermine her job, especially someone who knows how much her job means to her. But she also knows that Alex is coming from a place of love and would never intentionally try to hurt/offend her, so they compromise.Â
The kiss on the cheek is telling because Alex purposely goes for her cheek and Maggie purposely offers her cheek. Alex realized she was stepping on Maggieâs toes and Maggie wants Alex to know she is a little hurt. They leave on good terms, both relenting to the otherâtrying to show mutual respect and love.Â
I also want to point out that while Alex was in the wrong, they both were able to come together (rather quickly) and sort it all out. Once again, showing the audience that all relationships have their flaws but healthy communication is the key to a solid relationship! #SanversInventedHealthyRelationships2k17
I KNEW I had seen this wlw body language before!
Like I had pointed out in these two posts (x)(x),
Maggie and Brittany both tilt their chin up towards their loves, although Maggieâs is far more obvious. They are asserting their dominance while flirting.
According to body language experts: âJutting out the chin towards a person exposes it and says âGo on, I dare you, try to hit me and see what happens!â This can thus be a signal of defiance, if not towards the other person then instead towards some situation or person in the conversation.Often, when a person is feeling confident, their chin will jut out slightly as they hold their head up and maybe tilted slightly back.Jutting may also exposes the teeth and is a thus a threat to bite which may be added to an aggressive display.â
Like some wlw MAGIC, Alex and Santana are both complimenting their loves with submissive actions; lowering the chin and maintaining eye contact.
Lowering the head whilst maintaining eye contact can also be a strong flirting signal, typically by women. It says âYou are superior and I just canât take my eyes off youâ.
In a BOLD conclusion,
Maggie Sawyer and Brittany Pierce are more dominant/tops Alex Danvers and Santana Lopez are more submissive/bottoms
Alex and Maggie Parallels: They recently got injured but instead of resting they are putting the comfort and happiness of their loved ones first. Alex gets up, despite Karaâs plea to rest, to show her the hologram intelligence system she was working on so Kara can talk to her mother. Then we have Maggie who is not wanting to leave her girlfriend waiting and worrying.Â

Another thing that makes me emotional is that you can clearly see some of the weight of being lifted off Alexâs shoulders after she confesses to Maggie. Seeing that Maggie isnât judging her and is so understanding. Alex didnât say the words (she is not ready, not yet), but having Maggie understand without her having to say them bring her so much comfort :â) Then you see the look on Maggieâs face that she is so honored that Alex trusts her with this. She gives a little smile while Alex leaves. Maggie knows how hard saying this is and how vulnerable Alex is in this moment. She offers her the comfort and understanding that she was most likely not given growing up in Blue Springs, Nebraska. :â) :â)
