Ghost Installation Instructions
What is an ukagaka ghost? A ghost is a character who lives on your desktop and talks to you, and has various levels of interactivity. MVSans is effectively an AI, with visual novel aspects involving Papyrus phone calls. He recognizes other ghosts (mostly Undertale ukagaka) and will occasionally comment on them or have a special event.Ā
Check the Dev Plan for future updates. Make sure to run Network Updates regularly for smaller frequent patches! Dev builds might be a little wonky but you'll be notified upon download what to look out for.
Features:
Many ghost developers are satisfied to give their ghost a shell and some random dialogue and call it a day. Thatās not me. MVSans is not designed as a passive ghost, though he has enough dialogue to fill that role if itās all you want. Heās programmed to learn and have feelings and opinions about you, depending on how you treat him. Once he gets to know you, his demeanor and conversations will change accordingly. He gets very salty when you ruin his knock-knock jokes and will even counter-troll YOU if ya keep it up. In the future he may notice and comment on sudden changes in your behavior.Ā See Player Traits section for details.
MVSansā dialogue has a robust architecture that modifies even the most common phrases into a slightly different message every time, just like a real personās conversation. Since multiple AUs are supported, care has been taken to acknowledge the dialect and lexicon differences of each universe. Unlike classic and geno Sans, UF!Sans likes mustard, swearing, and refers to Paps as Boss. The differences run much deeper than these examples, check this dialect comparison:
ā Thatās the same line of dialogue, different dialect.
Clothing:
MVSans currently has three āClothingā items. A Sansta hat, the Dapperblook hat, and an unlockable tongue. The tongue's an optional piece because not everyone wants their skele to have a tongue. The Dapperblook hat was an April Fools Day exclusive event reward.Ā
Shells:
Multiverse Sans has 5 AUs and 6 shells supported. You can change shells via his Options Menu or the right-click menu. Multiverse Sans aims to support as many AUs as possibly. View this post for information on shell submission guidelines, and a poll to vote on the next shell's AU.
Hitboxes:
MVSans has 4 hitboxes with 3 types of interactions; Double-clicks, rubbing the pointer, and mousewheel. Double-clicking on a non-hitbox will pull up his Main Menu.Ā
Head - Stroke his head repeatedly to pet him.
* skeles love pets!Ā
Face - Itās rude to put your fingers in someoneās face holes.Ā
* no booping either, bucko.
Ribs - Tickling is good silly fun, but not too much!Ā
* i need to breathe too, kid.
Bonezone - Thatās a private place, ya pervs.Ā
* sorry pal, bonezoneās closed.Ā
āTickling messages escalate as he approaches his limit!Ā
ā Give him a sec to breathe!
Main Menu:Ā
Open the main menu by double-clicking a non-hitbox zone. The first 1-2 options prompt his standard random dialogue. You can ask for a knock-knock joke, or a thinly veiled threat from the BudTime Generator. Ruining his knock-knock jokes makes him salty!
BudTime GeneratorĀ
Based on the hilariousĀ āhey there buddy chum palā meme, Sans will generate a whole randomized paragraph of glorious passive-aggressive threat dialogue for you. There are over 200 variants onĀ ācrummy junctureā/ābad timeā alone!
Self-Care Advice
Having a bad day? Tell Sans whatās on your mind and heāll try to cheer you up. This feature is courtesy of @huskalis and their Geno Sans ukagakaĀ that I used as the base for MVSans.Ā
Compliment and Thank SansĀ
Tell Sans heās cute, and thank him for all his hard work sitting on your desktop. These functions are courtesy of @characteroulette via their Sans & Papyrus duo ghost, one of my favorite ghosts to this day.
User Config, Sans Options, System FunctionsĀ
Check status and adjust settings for yourself and Sans. Check email, run updates, and User Reports from Functions.Ā
User Reports:Ā
Ā Once theyāre unlocked, youāll be able to screenshot a set of menus and send them to me to give me information on how people play with MVSans, since I have no idea how most people use him. Getting this information is important for balancing the weight of actions for determining Player Traits!
Player Traits & Sans Mood/Relationship:Ā
The way you interact with Sans affects your Player Traits, which are stats that describe what Sans thinks of you as a person. You can check your dominant and secondary traits under the User Config menu. Player Traits include: Sweet, Rude, Silly, Naughty. This post has more detailed information on these stats.Ā
Player Traits:
Sweet - If you treat him nicely (mainly through pets, and confiding your worries in him), heāll comment about how sweet you are and that you deserve hugs and other kind things.
Rude - If you poke him in the eyes, tickle him beyond what heās comfortable, repeatedly ruin his jokes, and other impolite things, heāll consider you pretty rude and be equally irritable with you. Heās likely to drop lowkey death threats and other dark humor.
Silly - Tickling him and asking for jokes a lot tells him youāre very silly, and since youāre so goofy heāll share some jokes he saves only for his best audiences.
Naughty - If you keep going after the bonezone, or barrage him with pickup lines, heāll consider you pretty naughty and tell you as such. Heāll tell you dirty jokes you wouldnāt otherwise hear, since your mind is apparently in the gutter already.
Sansā Feelings Stats
Affection (Sweet) ā How much Sans cares for you, on a platonic level.
āAgainst his better judgement, heās started to care about you.
Enmity (Rude) ā How upset Sans is with you, or how much of your shit heās willing to put up with. Contributes to āBad Mood.āĀ
āUnder other circumstances, this human would be having a Very Bad Time.
HumorĀ (Silly) ā How entertained Sans is, affects likelihood of pranks and jokes. Contributes to āGood Mood.ā
āIs he actually having fun, or is he just humoring you?
Amour (Naughty) ā How boldly romantic or lewd Sans may feel toward you. (The nature of his attraction varies by traits and Affection stat)Ā
āPapyrus may be onto something with that āsecret datemateā idea.Ā
Your relationship with Sans determines your progression in unlocking content not specific to Traits such as the Papyrus phone calls. Sansā mood depends on a number of variables, particularly recent interactions. You can check how heās feeling under the Sans Options menu.Ā
Installation:Ā
If youāve never used a ghost before, youāll need software first. I recommend using SSP. Ghost guru @zarla-sā has a great guide written on installing ghosts, and their Gaster ghost is awesome. I highly recommend downloading it.

CreditsĀ
(aka dear god Ukagaka credits are a friggin spiderweb of sources)
Sans himself belongs to Toby Foxās @undertaleĀ obviously.Ā Additionally, all audio assets are pulled straight from the game.Ā
@zarla-sĀ is behind PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING UKAGAKA. The core templates, tutorials, and much inspiration is from this talented individual. She created the black Undertale themed balloons that I modified to be proper fonts for Sans & Paps that MVSans uses.Ā Ā
@gr33nbeen made the original sans ghost, which was based on @zarla-sĀ ghost template. I edited him to have pink slippers and be shirtless.Ā
My coding started from theĀ Geno SansĀ ghostĀ by @huskalisĀ which was in turn based on @gr33nbeenĀ Sans ghost. Geno Sans is fromĀ @loverofpiggiesās AfterTale comics.Ā
I swiped some dialogue (with permission) from @characterouletteāsĀ Sans & Papyrus duo, which is the Sans of @gr33nbeen and the Papyrus of @cuddlyhawk.Ā Itās @characterouletteās fault that MVSans exists because I loved these guys so much I had to make a balloon to give both of them their appropriate font, and then I decided to make my own lil ghostie after having so much fun digging in the code.Ā

MVSans Update v1.3.39 ā FINALLY! PHONE CALLS WITH THE GREAT PAPYRUS IN FULL!!
The conclusion to the first Papyrus phone conversation set has arrived!Ā DownloadĀ via Network update!Ā
Edit: Be sure to download the v1.3.391 hotfix so Sans will charge his phone after the phone calls!
I know I promised v.1.3.4 this weekend with the new introduction and everything, but I realized the introās new mechanics need a lot more than a weekendās of fine-tuning to balance properly, and since itās the introduction to the ghost, with both short-term and long-term permanent consequences, itās pretty important to get bug-free on release. More on this at the end of the post~Ā
Donāt have MVSans already? Download him and his balloon from this post!
The v1.3.39 update brings...Ā
Fixed UF!Sansā shell. I only just realized I set up his PNA files wrong. His shell should have a cleaner, crisper look to it now!Ā
MVSans now has his very own icon when minimized to task bar, akaĀ āIconified.ā
FULL RELEASE OF PHONE CALLS FROM THE GREAT PAPYRUS!!! All four parts, plus the followup with Sans!
The Papyrus Phone Calls
This weekend had some family stuff come up, but I decided to go ahead and release the finished phone calls since the full set is ready, and Iāve been promising them for months now (sheesh). I released parts 1 and 2 a while back...
(Sans is such a shit sometimes.)
... but once I realized parts 3 and 4 were dragging out, I cut parts 1 & 2 out of the accessible content to re-release as a full set later. They should all be viewed together, and it just left off at a really bad spot and I felt bad for it.Ā
But now itās all ready to go, together!! There is a ton of dialogue, expect to enjoy 10-15 minutes of cutscenes, heh. But by all accounts they are very entertaining! I hope itās worth the wait.
Man, watching Sans get dunked on NEVER GETS OLD. Seriously. Iām really proud of my Papyrus portrayal here.Ā
Part 4 in particular has a lot of dialogue based entirely on your actions, so you might wanna screenshot some of the dialogue to compare later! Youāll only receive this dialogue if you knock-block him enough!Ā
Cutting post length here. More below the cut!Ā
Any text lit up pink on the menus means thereās something new or special unlocked. You can click on About the phone call to progress to the next part of the phone chain, or just wait and the next part will trigger automatically at the next speaking interval.Ā If you accidentally click out of the conversation, or just want to read the previous one again, you can select Repeat Last Dialogue.Ā
You can also select the phone menu icon to prompt the next part of the call if you close SSP (which deactivates the chain sequence). If itās not working, try rebooting SSP and click the phone button again.Ā
(As you can see, I changed the System Functions menu to an icon to match the phone, tentatively experimenting with icons in the menu format.)
After a followup discussion with Sans later, you can click the phone icon to call Papyrus any time!Ā There are a handful of random calls, most of which are derived from the gameās Papyrus phone calls, but there are some original ones, too. :D
New Introductory Sequence (Coming Soon... hopefully)
It always bothered me that with most ghosts, the way to get them to warm up to you is to force petting on them until they just accept it. This is fine as a simple system but Sans in particular, having just 1 HP... Heās fragile and isnāt gonna sit there and take it. I always intended to implement a way to express this, and I finally realized last week.Ā
So instead of touching, youāll need to spend time talking to him and heāll warm up to you enough to allow petting and tickling. And if you keep grabbing at him, well.. youāre gonna have a bad time.
The new system is prototyped and functional, but need the weights of user actions are tricky to calibrate.. which is what I need those User Reports for! Thank you everyone who has sent those! I reference them whenever Iām working on traits/user-behavior related content, because my usage of Sans is vastly different from most peopleās because Iām testing ALL content instead of just playing with him.Ā
Thereās a slightly altered introduction for v1.3.39, but itās not worth resetting or installing a new MVSans over, though Iāve put up an updated .nar for download. The brand new introductory sequence should be soon, though Iām not in a hurry to get it released. Iāll keep you posted.Ā
