        " my best friend is a vampire. "   okay,  and technically speaking,  her other best friend was a werewolf.  and archie was human.  and technically that veronica wasn't her veronica,  but tomato,  tomato,  right ?          " i'm not anything - ! "   she clarifies,  dark eyes flashing up as she drinks from her soda can,  humming happily as the carbonation dances along her tongue,  and it's the little things with her these days.  why she finds it easier to relax even in overwhelming places.    " i've just been ... doing this a long time, now. i know what to look for. "   no matter that her aunt made a comment on her being a prodigy,  how her father mentions she's more  intuitive  than any of the other coopers.

“    oh,   louis,   you say it as if it's bad.    ”       i snarked with an arched brow and a preening grin,   analyzing every shift in his expression with feline attention.   unholy.   i liked the sound of that.        “    what a flimsy concept,   that is.   there is no such thing as holy.      ”       a chuckle followed my words and i leaned closer to share it in a secret.        “    they only mean to control you with the blame placed on your back for faults they all,   too,   possess.   how is that fair?   would you not say,   mon cher,   that it’s better to be honest than hypocritical?     ”

Skeptic eyes roamed his features waiting for a punchline or some indicator he was just messing with the witch. Trust was something Bonnie didn’t give out easily, but she appreciated the semimat to listen to her. Maybe it was the alcohol entering her system that caused her to question if she should allow herself to open up. Swirling the alcohol in her cup around for a moment before she spoke, ❝ It’s just friends back home, they always call when they need something, not just to check in. Silly I know.  ❞
