Jo frowned and slammed her hand on the table in protest to Dean’s rejection towards getting a cat. They had settled down for a while together, and what way to start a family than to get an animal and see how they handle that?
Clearly Dean had different ideas, and didn’t want to look after a little fuzzball of joy. That disappointed Jo heavily, and she tried to use her cuteness to sway him into getting a cat. She walked over to him and took his hands and nuzzled into his chest, twirling slightly and tilting her head to look up into his eyes, pouting heavily and batting her eyelashes."Pleeease Dean? Can we get a cat? I’ll do all the disgusting jobs! I’ll clean the litter tray and the poop from the garden. I’ll even give it it’s food, you don’t have to do anythin’ you don’t wanna. Dean, baby, honey, sweetie, please! Can we just try it? Can we just try having a cat?" She begged him, clasping her hands together as she begged him for a cat, relentlessly, not even stopping to take a breather and give him a chance to think about it. She wanted him to buckle under the pressure and say yes to getting a cat. It was blackmail, but… Who wouldn’t love a cat?
Dean growled, somewhat frustrated and irritated that she fell for yet another scheme of hers so she could get her way. But how could he resist that cute face of hers? She was so beautiful, he just couldn’t say no and let her down. He chuckled and kissed the top of her head and grabbed the keys to the impala."Let’s go get a cat." He sighed, grumbling as he made his way to the Impala.
It had been a few months since they got the cat and things had been a little hectic. It was only a little kitten but it was the wildest, most feral thing they had ever seen. It was unlike anything they had ever seen before. They’d hunted demons, monsters, ghosts and ghouls, and they couldn’t tame a fucking kitten? This was beyond a joke for either of them.
Sam had chased after the little critter with a spray bottle to teach it discipline and that hadn’t worked. Instead it would just continue to scamper around the house, leaving destruction in it’s wake as it sprinted around the house. Their attempts were useless.Jo had tried keeping it isolated and keeping it in one room. However, upon the times they opened the door to check on it… It wasn’t a pretty sight in the slightest. Curtains had claw marks, there was cat litter on the floor, the cat had pooped under the bed, the pillows had been ripped apart, the trash can was destroyed… How was such a little cute, bundle of fluff capable of such horror?Jo and Sam collapsed on the couch together and curled up. "I don’t know what we’re supposed to do. The cat just isn’t calming down." She frowned, really hoping this would work."I know, we’ve tried everything. I don’t want to have to take it back to the animal shelter, but we might have to…" Sam told her remorsefully. It caused a twang of pain in her chest, but then she thought of something as she went through a mental checklist."Catnip!" She shot up from the couch and went out to get some for the cat.Sam was left sat on the sofa, wondering if the cat had drove her insane.
The day had come where they had to pick the kitten or cat that was going to be ideal for them, and act as their own little child where they would officially become parents for the first time to a cat. Jo was excited but it seemed that Castiel was even more excited than she was; in fact, he was thrilled! He had been counting down the days until they picked up the little critter.
They scanned each little hut for a cat that seemed perfect for them, falling in love with each and every one that they saw. They both knew they couldn’t get all of them, as neither had the money for it. They would have to settle for one. They thought that they would be forced to choose one when all of a sudden, they saw a sweet little ginger tom cat. It was only young, but it had come right to the front, looking up at the couple with hopeful eyes. Jo gasped and kneeled down. She reached her hand in and began to pet it’s head, for it to nuzzle back.
"Cas, I think this one is for us. It’s so damn cute.""I definitely agree." He replied, too lost in awe at the little kitten.
Then something unexpected happened…
Another little kitten, just like that one, popped out from behind one of the little hutches they had in there. It came out and sat down beside it, mewing playfully.
And on that day, they didn’t leave with just one; they left with two.
