The intentions of this Max/msp patch I put together was to generate and explore experimental timbres through delay line FM, using PCM audio as opposed to single cycle waveforms found in typical FM operator implementations. The interface is fairly self explanatory and includes waveform/loop editing with modulation capabilities, Pitch/harmonic control, high and low-pass filtering, stereo delay and Max's crude oscilloscope. The modulator in the complex FM section has been limited to a simple sine wave for simplicity. A midi map has been designed around Keith McMillen's QuNeo control surface and although it's not shown in the video above, the final patch includes a diagram of the map and controls on the GUI.
I've included a link to download this patch, however for it to work it needs a folder containing samples included in the folder containing the patch and sub-patches once unzipped. The unzipped folder also needs to be placed within or added to Max's file search path/s in the File Preferences option.
