early seasons sam time travels to the later seasons and realizes, with horror, that dean has become just like their father : the same volatile temper, barely restrained aggression when he gets mad at sam, and this unsettling pleasure he takes in control, like sam's submission excites him, gives him a rush. even his voice echoes john in a way that makes sam's stomach drop : just as low, rough and harsh as john's. the voice meant to command.
and sam realizes that this older dean isn't just playing this role. he is comfortable in it than he has ever been.
(inspired by jensen saying that dean was always meant to become john).
