Birdsong: Marie finally met the wizard the book is named after and made the mistake of saying she's looking for adventure and hasn't had any yet. Kidnapping ensues. (Four pages)
Fracture: Portals everywhere! A really broken up on the ground news report! Also the start of an after the fact newspaper report but then my lunch break was over. (Two pages)

Four and a half pages on *The Sound Of Distant Thunder*
which might have just changed it's name to the much snappier *Shipfall*
Because opps, the prequel book and the actual book just merged into a parallel narrative that's happening in both times instead of being two books
And oops, the world building just got more complex but also more fun to write about
And oops, a new character has entered the story, implying another new character, and at least two major plot lines I didn't previously suspect.
Oops.
Wrote five pages on Frostlin, a wintery fantasy. Today, our heroine found out magic untamed would probably kill her and struck a deal with the enemy to save her village.
Also added five ideas to the pile and started reading this year's Best American Essays. Did some brainstorming on the Vague Side Projects.
