ok so i have discovered something about Winchester language. If they LOVE someone not as a family member they say "I need you." Dean says it to Cas and Sam says it to Gabriel. So this proves that Destiel and Sabriel are officially canon.

Since Iâm firmly entrench in destiel once again, Iâll be brining this fic back as well. I never did settle on a title for it. *ponders*
Anyway, Dean and Cas are rival bakers in the same town and secretly pining. Gabe and Sam hatch SHENANIGANS.
âHey, Sam! Â You delivering yet or can I start using you as a coat rack?â
Sam stacked the boxes of pies in the back of the van, securing them as best as he could. Â He glared around the side of the door. Â "Iâm five feet from you, asshole. Â Stop shouting.â
Dean grinned. Â "Oh, good. Â You can hear.â Â He trotted out the side door of the bakery, carrying a large cake box. Â "Last one. Â Any get messed up, Iâm kicking your ass from here to India.â
Bastard, Sam though.  He smiled bitterly.  "You do this every time, Dean.  Iâve delivered for you for what?  Five years?  Have a messed up one yet?â
Dean scruffed Samâs hair, cackling when he swatted his older brother away. Â "And donât eat the product, Gargantua.â
Scowling, Sam straightened his shirt. Â "I hate you and everything you stand for,â he said quietly.
Still grinning, Dean ran a hand through his hair, leaving streaks of flour and frosting along his forehead. Â "This oneâs important. Â Itâs the first time a chain storeâs picked up my stuff.â
"Puts you right alongside Castiel now, doesnât it?â Sam prodded with a smirk.
At the name of the cross-town baker, Dean first paled and then blushed.  "Like I give a shit what the guy sells.  Or where he sells it.â  His jaw tightened.  "Whatever.  JustâŚshut up.â
Sam grinned, shutting the van doors and moving to the driverâs side. Â "You want me to pick up more eclairs while Iâm there?â
Shifting like a guilty toddler, Dean muttered, "Five this time,â before darting back into the bakery.
Sam snickered, pulling himself into the driverâs seat. Â He sighed, dropping the visor to find an old picture of he and Jo and Dean, with Dean doing his usual mugging in the background. Â "One of these days, Dean,â he muttered, starting the van, "you need to quit hiding.â Â He snorted, pulling out onto the street. Â "Like youâre really hiding anything, you idiot.â Â He whistled to himself as he drove off, affectionate amusement keeping him company on the drive to the grocery store.Â
Sam parked the van in one of the few open street spots and got out, still whistling. Â He waved to Gabriel where he sat on a nearby bench, a familiar pink box at his hip.
He unlocked the back door and pulled out two pies: one apple and the other marionberry. Â Without a word, Gabriel held out a fistful of dollars.
âDo you think theyâll ever figure it out?â Sam asked, setting the pies down before fishing out a few bills from his own pocket. Â He made the exchange and picked up the box of eclairs.
Gabriel snorted.  "Seriously?  You think my cousin even understands what attraction means?â  He snickered.  "The idiot.  He moons over these damn pies when he thinks no oneâs looking.  I mean, yesterday, he finished off that peach pie your brother tried out?  I thought the poor idiot would burst into tears.â
Glancing at his watch, Sam realized he still had some time before he had to make his delivery to the market. Â He sat down beside Gabriel, setting the eclair box across his legs. Â "Same. Â Dean acts like Castielâs nothing to him but I swear he canât go a day without these.â Â He drummed his fingers on the box, pursing his lips. Â "I say we lock them in a closet until they figure it out.â
Chuckling, Gabriel shook his head. Â "Good God; Iâve never met a more blind pair.â Â He ran a hand through his shaggy hair and commented, "Think we should step in finally? Â Show them the error of their ways?â
âJo thinks so.â Â
Gabriel grinned, making Samâs heart stutter.  "I like Jo.  I've always liked that little minx.â
Sam smiled and looked toward the van.  âBut I hate meddling with Deanâs life.  He gets really ⌠pissy.â
âLook up that word in the dictionary youâll find his picture,â Gabriel muttered. Â He patted Sam on the shoulder. Â âLook at it this way; if we donât do something soon, these two idiots are going to pine over each other through baked goods until theyâre both diabetic.â Â Gabriel wagged a finger. Â "Weâre doing them a favor by pushing the issue. Â Youâll see.â
It would be nice, actually.  Dean had been running at full bore since he was about sixteen.  Working as many jobs as he could manage while watching the house and Sam and John.  Putting himself through culinary school.  Opening the bakery.  Handling the marketing.  Hell, he doubted his brother even slept at this point.  Was it so wrong to try and get him to see a good thing when he barely had a moment to breathe?
It wasnât like Dean hated Castiel. Whenever they did interact, he was as friendly as anyone. Â Castielâs specialty was usually with pastries and foreign desserts. Â Best baklava Sam had ever had. Â And Dean had stuck to more traditional fare like cakes and pies. Â Both did very well in their small town. Â Rarely competed except at the county fair. Â But lately, Sam had noticed the lingering gazes Dean sent Castielâs way whenever possible. Â And he hadnât been blind to the shy looks Castiel gave his brother when Dean wasnât looking.
Sam sighed and nodded. Â "All right. Â If you promise Dean wonât try to neuter me, I say we do it.â
âThank God.â  Gabriel stood up, hefting the pies.  "If I have to see him moon over one more pie, I will strip him naked and ship him to Dean.â  With a wink, Gabriel saluted Sam and sauntered off.
Shaking his head, Sam rose and returned to his van, setting the eclairs down gently on the seat beside him. Â He waved again at Gabriel as he slipped into his car. Â That was the other thing. Â If he got Castiel and Dean to admit their own attraction, it meant that Sam might be able to do the same with regards to Gabriel. Â Maybe. Â Jo had been pushing him to admit his crush for the past few months, careful not to mention it around Dean since Dean and Gabriel â friends or not â tended to snipe at each other seconds after exchanging hellos.
Kind of hypocritical that he was goading Dean and he couldnât do it either. Â He pulled a face as he started the van. Â To be fair, he wanted Dean and Castiel together in order to soften the blow of his own attempts. Â
Still, he had to wonder if this was the best course of action. Â Dean never did like it when Sam tried to help him; even if it was just getting him to ask a guy out. Â So, this was either the best idea heâd had or the worst. Â âProbably the worst,â he muttered as he started the van. Â "But I canât have a geriatric sibling stuffing himself with eclairs until he dies.â
He tried fighting the empty, but he is oh so tired.Â
He does not have the strength to carry on anymore. He wants to go to sleep, and never wake up. He wants to give in....
Until he hears someone enter his space. At first, Gabriel believes it is his double who is coming to taunt him once again. He is ready to tell the Empty that he wants to go to sleep. He is ready to go to sleep.Â
It is not the Empty. It is Jack the Nephilim. Jack, his nephew. What is he doing here? How is he here? The Winchesters, they must have failed at keeping him safe.Â
He thinks he can hear Jack speak to him. His voice sounds distant somehow. Like he is talking through a glass panel. Gabriel is struggling to hear, but he can make out a form. Just a silhouette, which becomes clearer and clearer with each second.Â
Jack is still talking, but Gabriel cannot make out any words. Once Jack comes into focus, all Gabriel can see is how his nephew moves his arms in an agitated manner and his lips moving as he speaks too quickly for Gabriel to follow. Gabriel is trying. Heâs trying so hard.Â
Suddenly, Gabriel can make out something.Â
Sam.... Sam... Sam...
Sam! Jack is talking about Sam.Â
With that, Gabriel stands up and out of the corner of his eyes, he makes out his double. The Empty is trying to keep him from getting back to Sam. No one keeps him from going back to Sam. Not when Sam needs him.Â
âDean and Sam, they need you, uncle Gabe. Please;Â you need to stay awake and fight. Please...â
âDonât you worry kiddo,â Gabriel tells his nephew as he raises his hand at his double, âI wonât fail you or Sam this time.â
