Rauner confirms GOP still the Same Old Party
Exactly one year after the Republican National Committee laid out a plan to “rebrand” the Republican Party and reach out to constituencies they struggled with in 2012, last night the Illinois GOP doubled down on remaining the Same Old Party.
Bruce Rauner’s victory in the Illinois Republican Primary proved one thing, that instead of nominating a candidate that relates to the middle class and working Illinois families, they are more comfortable with an out-of-touch, right-wing billionaire.
To congratulate the Illinois GOP on their selection of Bruce Rauner, the DNC would like to release the Illinois GOP Rebrand Report, highlighting just a few examples of how the rebrand is going in Illinois.

Illinois GOP Rebrand Report
Exactly a year ago, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus spoke at the National Press Club and laid out a plan to “rebrand” the Republican Party, and reach out to constituencies who they rightly failed to appeal to during the 2012 elections. But a year later, all the Republican Party has gotten is a year older. No amount of outreach, staff hires, or changes to their primary calendar will change the fact that the GOP’s policy and rhetoric are just as out of step with the majority of American voters as ever.
In fact, a few examples of this failed Republican Party rebrand can be found right here in Illinois.

We are provoking him with abortions and same-sex marriage and civil unions… Same-sex activity is going to increase AIDS. If it's in our military it will weaken our military.”
Illinois GOP Official Jim Allen said of a female congressional candidate, she “will be back in Shitcago by May of 2014 working for some law firm that needs to meet their quota for minority hires” adding, “The little queen touts her abstinence and she won the crown because she got bullied in school,,,boohoo..kids are cruel, life sucks and you move on.. Now, miss queen is being used like a street walker and her pimps are the DEMOCRAT PARTY and RINO REPUBLICANS."
In the wake of anti-gay comments by the president of Chick-fil-A, the Illinois Republican Party fundraised by promoting the company and offering Chick-fil-A gift cards to people who donated to them.
