I love how in same time, same place, willow subconsciously hides herself from the scoobies, but lets Spike and Anya see her. She isnβt ready to be seen by her friends after the things she did as dark willow, but Spike & Anya also committed acts that would usually be seen as unforgivable, so she doesnβt fear their judgement.
going to queue up some of the art i did for paperhatober over on twitter. the link to the prompt list is in the source.
days 6-8: Favourite Colour, Cute, Elegant
The concept of this episode really intrigues me but they donβt go far enough with it in my opinion. Iβve expressed my thoughts thoroughly to @Faith Victoria on this. There is such a story there that could have been combined with further Willow-centric scenes coming up to really address issues with Willowβs pathological insecurity. Something I feel that they donβt focus on at all for her character when they should have given itβs the last season and given itβs the main reason why she is the way she is.
There really is one hell of a character arc for Willow with what they set up here and the fears she has that we learn about the last two episodes. But they donβt do anything with it. They just drop it. WHY does Willow subconsciously manifest a βyou donβt see me, I donβt see youβ spell? Whatβs the reason for it? You can safely assume itβs guilt and regret but I just donβt feel that thatβs enough to answer the question. Magically manifesting something is a willing of a particular goal or effect. Even if only subconsciously. And I feel like the writers didnβt really understand that. They wanted a cool idea for Willowβs return into the Scooby Gang fold but werenβt prepared to deal with the conclusion.
And honestly - this same sentiment goes for much of the season. Donβt build something that you donβt want to bother developing on just for a cool idea.
not in the mood of organising my thoughts into a coherent essay but just realised in same time same place when buffy says to willow βi have so much power iβm giving it awayβ thatβs actually foreshadowing for chosen
