Musk Rages at Billionaire Tech Rival After Bombshell Lawsuit Filed
Elon Musk has come under fire from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman following a lawsuit accusing Musk of harassment and actively working to undermine the company.
Musk, who helped found OpenAI in 2015 but departed before its rise to prominence, launched his own AI company, xAI, in 2023. Since then, he has challenged OpenAI's shift from nonprofit to for-profit status—a transition necessary for the company to secure a $40 billion investment by year’s end.
"Elon’s relentless efforts to disrupt us are nothing more than bad-faith attempts to hinder our progress and take control of critical AI advancements for his own gain," OpenAI stated. "We’ve filed a countersuit today to stop him."
