#Baobao (previously #SallyAnn) is back at SBH. Circumstances changed for her new owner and unfortunately they had to make the difficult decision to rehome her. These things happen, and one of my SBH policies is that all hamsters born in my hamstery are welcome back here. Every pup I produce will always have a home with us. We've only had hamsters rehomed a few times - twice for allergies and thrice now due to changing circumstances. Life happens and things change. Being able to make a choice in everyone's best interest is tough - but it shows maturity, responsibility and most importantly - love. Sometimes as pet parents we have to make a decision that we know will hurt, but we do it anyways because we love them. I know Baobao was deeply loved and cherished. Her elaborate and amazing home speaks to that alone! But I also know her human agonized over this difficult decision because they loved her so much. I'm so sorry they had to make this decision, but I'm glad they reached out to me so I could help. đ I will always do whatever I can to help out our adopters because when you get your hamster from us you do become a part of the SBH family. Baobao will hang out here with me for a little bit before heading out to a new home with a previous adopter of ours. Since we do adopt to people all over, not all situations allow for me to be able to physically take back the hamster. However I also know people from all over and I've been able to help coordinate rehoming for our pups from afar. This is part of being an ethical breeder - my responsibilities extend beyond just the rearing and sale of these animals. These little souls are born in my living room. I hear their little peeps before I see their faces. I get to see their first steps out of the nest, their protests about being carried back. I get to watch them meet their new humans and enjoy an amazing life. There is so much more to breeding that people don't think about, and I'm glad I can use SBH to talk and be transparent. Thank you for making this incredibly difficult decision.
