Recipe: Salisbury Steaks
Salisbury Steaks Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs (1 use a blender to make my own bread crumbs) 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 egg 1 medium onion, diced (you can buy frozen diced onions as a time saver) 1 can cream of mushroom soup 3/4 cup of milk
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix together onion with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and black pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of patties. Pour off excess fat.
In a small bowl, blend milk and cream of mushroom soup until smooth. Pour over meat in skillet. Cover, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
I serve this recipe with mashed potatoes (you can use the Steam & Mash Potatoes in frozen food section of your grocery store for a time saver). And you can pair it with green beans! Enjoy:-)
Secret:
I can't eat Salisbury steaks anymore... like ever. We ate them every day for dinner in middle school because we were so poor, and you get a lot of them for a little bit of money. My mom is making some right now for herself, and I have to eat a pot pie.
