it’s baby mech i-

someone on wattpad was copying my story viva la vida.

and by copying, i mean some lines were the same with two words rearranged, and she basically took my entire story basis ( the premise of my story is the young king drystan vanished right after his fall from the throne ; the premise of hers is the young king trystain vanished right after his fall from the throne ).

there were multiple other similarities as well ; i may compile them in another post.

when i realized this was beyond just taking some friendly inspiration, i pmed this person and requested that she gave me credit. she replied ‘of course i’ll give you credit!’ , so i decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. but right after she sent the message, she took down all her stories and went on hiatus - basically avoiding having to give me credit at all.

but okay, fine. maybe she felt guilty. a few weeks later, however, i still felt uncomfortable with the prospect that people had been reading that story as her entirely own work.

this morning, i decided to tell her that on her message board, because that is within my rights to let her know.

and just earlier, she deleted my message :)

she also proceeded to block / mute every saintshitter - every person who reads my story ( i don’t think she’s blocked me though ? which is strange but ).

in short, i just wanted to let you know that copyright and plagiarism is common : never assume you’re immune to it, because for a while, i did - and then this happened.
