On Bright Tuesday, we celebrate the Holy Newly Revealed Martyrs Raphael, Nicholas, Irene and all those with them. For around 500 years the story of these saints was unknown until in 1959 they started appearing to various people in dreams, telling them where their relics were buried and how they were martyred. Having found their fragrant relics, a monastery was built over the site and the saints continue to perform countless miracles to this day. Although they were martyred by invading Turks on April 9, this was in fact Bright Tuesday of that year and so, their feast is kept on this day.
