he dusts his hands off before turning back to alm, looking over him. he looks nervous, fidgeting with the signet ring he wore now ( a heavy ring, definitely -- it had been the emperor’s. rightfully, it was alm’s now. )

“ you look fine, alm. you’d look better if you stopped looking so glum. ” he frowned a bit, folding his arms over his chest. “ it’s a formal ball, not a battlefield. you’ll be fine. . .if it helps any, i’ll tell you a secret of my own.
