sailorramoon replied to your post âOn todayâs Noblesse chapter: more plot, so soon? Eff that.â
I dunno, I'd love more plot. Such as, say, finding M-21's original identity, so he can know if he has a birth family looking for him. Finding the identities of the rest of the M series. The First Elder getting a face that matters. Raskreia making official First Contact with benevolent human organizations. The geopolitics of discoverings gods were real but weren't gods. Rai passing on the mantle to Seira. You know, ANYTHING BUT yet more plot-devouring Muzaka screentime...
Alright, yes, I would approve of every single one of those.

Yes on Dumbledore's main flaw being that he tries so hard to be kind it backfires on him. And even that is less a "flaw" that it's him overcorrecting for having been arrogant as hell when young, which really isn't surprising for an isolated intelligent person. It's pretty clear when re-reading once aware of his past that his present mistakes are entirely based on going out of his way to *avoid* being a manipulative bastard.

(Also Virgin Powers are a complete invention caused by Landegre chivalry insisting that they escort isolated maidens and children, obvs.)
I figured that they ended up associated with virginity because of their epic No Fucks Given~
...although thereâs a joke about how virgins and unicorns are both rare that is less funny in the context of the Landegre genocide. The world is much poorer for the loss of almost all its cranky, badass, confuzzled by your nonsense unicorns.
...If it werenât for the Dude Not Funny, I could see Tao calling Regis The Second-To-Last Unicorn.
sailorramoon replied to your post: ???? Did that person block me? Idk how blocking...
They did block you. Donât let it bother you â youâre completely right, and they are clearly only concerned with feeling good about themselves by joining the current Tumblr moral outrage fad. They are also 16 with âall men are pigsâ as their blog title, which is not exacly an indication of deep ethical thought.
Ay. I didnât expect them to change, and Iâm sure my claim has itâs flaws. But I wasnât expecting a one-sided reply&block. Youâre right, theyâre not the greatest people to begin with.
I do worry about the victim, because you know how Tumblr works... also, it sound weird but I also worry about them because itâs not a healthy behavior to have. Guess that part canât be helped.
Hmm, nobles with tentacles. To which the proper response is 'I know where this is going' but Franken probably needs to be very thoroughly hugged. Everyone. Everyone needs hugging+
Would explain Rai only having shirts in that room if I did another Flashback Era AU... He would have to be able to shapeshift to look human to have the Rai's Adventure smol human tug at his sleeve, but it's the middle of the night in his own home? Or nobles use mind control to look human, glamorie.
In which case nobles do not look human at all, and Frankenstein would need to be able to see/hear the projection as well to know what theyâre saying to him and get any body language/expression cues - they learned what to show to look human by mimicking humans, so thereâd be stuff theyâre doing without knowing how much theyâre giving away...
If I did this, Frankenstein would have already determinedly gotten over how monstrous they look - mention of tentacles, âwingsâ that are normally folded up not quite explaining how Ragar is staying in midair. Surprise at finding human shirts in a nobleâs manor, although there may be a few extra holes. Urokaiâs screeching/wailing and how he wouldnât be able to hear half of it if he wasnât modified and honestly heâd rather not, although if he was unmodified itâd have deafened him and probably be doing additional things to his body/bones.
All of which would make his experience of falling for Raizel resemble what Iâve read of some Hatoful Boyfriend reactions, heh. Heâd absolutely hit Raizelâs human projection, but his true appearance is still NOPE even after decades/centuries of fighting and capturing nobles and not letting them see any intimidation/nausea at the sight of their true forms.

âŚCrap. I just noticed a thing and, er, sorry to maybe bring you more work, butâ
The thing is, Zero isnât a Reploid.
Unlike every other robot of the era, he was never based on X at all, and was in all likelihood started before X was, what with his schematics being identifiable pretty early on. So while things common to Light and Wily, like the earcap things, would logically make their way to both robots, thereâs actually no reason for them to be so similar. The âmost humanoid Reploidsâ standard doesnât apply to him. Shouldnât he have an entirely different, unique inner body structure and articulation type?
Unless you think he was rebuilt as per Reploid standards in X2, in which case yeah no issue. He probably was, unique model no one understood and all.
I donât remember if i did these after finishing X2........ :o................. Because that is where they drop the hint? if I remember? I guess they confirm that in a later game?
If I did, i should have though about that....... ouch
Problem is, I still have a lot of problems figuring out distinct types of body structure for robots? I managed to do something with this one, but I donât know if I have the skill to figure out how I could give Zero a different structure and make it look ok....
That too, after being rebuilt, what if they didnât even could rebuild him like that... Hmmm.... but, maybe Iâll try to figure out something different, maybe Iâll get a nice idea!
@sailorramoon Youâre focusing on the missed opportunites, that the werewolves could have been really cool, while Iâm going âyeah, they should have been cool, whatâs going on that they arenât?â Also, the âthey lost the adultsâ theory lets me spin headcanon that the ancient werewolves that Gejutel used to fight were actually awesome warrior poets and the Ru Clanâs traditions are actually based on werewolf traditions (because nobles doing that kind of training?) without having to explain how that society could turn into this one... or rather, borrowing an explanation from canon - the loss of the werewolf adults being where the Previous Lord got the idea.
Which adds extra drama to Kei Ruâs battle, because in a fight where skill was the determining factor, a werewolf should be able to slaughter a noble. Because werewolves fought each other constantly, with their lives on the line, giving them Frankensteinâs advantage against Gradeus. We have testimony that they used to be independent, living independently, that they used to take honor as seriously as nobles: how the heck did they end up stormtroopers?
Weâre talking spoiled brats with a racial entitlement complex: come on, do you really think they do their own laundry? Or know how to sew? Or, like seriously, would push a broom around Madukeâs ego palace?
We know that they were taking over human areas, killing anyone who said no to them: making their own clothes or growing the crops/raising the animals to produce the fiber would be beneath them. Thatâs what humans are for. If their clothes get stained with human blood, thatâs the humansâ problem.
Maduke decides he wants the uniform for his species (to get them thinking of themselves as part of his group, also to mimic the Central Order Knights/be âweâre just as good as youâ) to be white, even though thatâs a pain in the ass for the people stuck doing the laundry? Kill the uppity slaves, thereâs more where that came from.
And thatâs a way to justify their outfits being so cookie-cutter and lacking all individuality in the OVA: itâs not just the uniform of Madukeâs minions, those werewolves are probably going through them as fast as M-21â˛s shirts and grabbing replacements out of the pile... and if there arenât enough in the pile? Theyâll get angry, and a human dies, so now they need to believe they didnât do anything wrong because the humans deserve it...
Which of course is another inducement to join Madukeâs side: you get free clothing, you get cooked meals, you get all the benefits of labor without having to do any of it... so theyâre really pushed to believe that what theyâre doing is ok, that theyâre entitled to take advantage of the fact humans canât protect themselves from werewolf conquest, that the humans are just animals that kill their own so thereâs no reason not to kill them (Roctisâ âthe humans would have done things just as evil anyway, so Ignes didnât really make a difference in the number of deathsâ) if they donât want to be enslaved by their superiors.
Obey Muzaka when he tells them to leave the humans alone? Wait, does he really want them to go back to sleeping in the woods, because building a house (and rebuilding it when itâs smashed in a tantrum) is humansâ work? Are they supposed to run around naked because sewing is humansâ work?
Especially if they lost the previous generation of parents who would have taught them things that are Necessary Life Skills to werewolves, like clothing repair, bloodstain removal, rebuilding your house... Then humans are their only option for getting those things... or they could, you know, get a human to teach them, but in that atmosphere of âweâre the best,â acting like a human has anything to teach them?
Which does end up meaning that theyâre aware on some level that theyâre dependent on the humans... which is shameful and angering to them, and itâd get taken out on the humans. If the humans donât want to do a thing? âHow dare you not do what I need you to do, you selfish thing! This is why you deserve to be an inferior race!â
This also explains why other than Maduke, those outfits arenât tailored. Theyâre baggy - one size fits all, whatever can be made in a hurry, at the rate the werewolves go through them.
Whatâs his face, the person who stole the 5thâs position as Madukeâs second-in-command, having an actual sense of personal style that wasnât clearly imitating the nobles.Â
The fact the werewolves donât have a specific beauty/style concept, that theyâre cribbing off the more âadvancedâ cultures around... Like, I seriously doubt Maduke would want to inspire personal styles when that means theyâre not wearing his uniform.
Muzaka, on the other hand, would absolutely know how to sew (he doesnât need to eat, so cookingâd be optional). Heâs out on his own in the wilderness for long periods, heâd be screwed if he didnât. If he demonstrates that necessary life skill in front of the younger generation heâs supposed to be teaching, theyâd lose respect for him, act like itâs one more way heâs not a proper werewolf, instead of being willing to learn... which probably did contribute to why Muzaka is just âI give up/I donât want toâ when it comes to teaching them anything. They donât listen/itâs just an annoying pain in the ass to try to deal with the brats.
You canât lead people who refuse to be led/mentor people who refuse to grow the hell up. Muzaka likely still thinks of them as children though: he doesnât want to start executing people for their crimes in order to get the rest of them to shape the hell up. Thatâs why the Previous Lord was worried about Raizel helping Muzaka, likely... The werewolves needed to be bitchslapped by reality, Muzaka canât bring himself to do it, a combination of the corruption in the Central Order Knights and the Previous Lordâs orders meant the criminals were just slapped on the wrist and sent home, seething over not being allowed to do whatever they want because they can...
Demonstrating that âhe who lives by the swordâ/âyou want the world to be a place where the strong can kill whoever they like? Okay, have it your wayâ is Do Not Want is Raizelâs job, but a noble killing that many werewolves, when Madukeâs made sure most of them are complicit in his crimes?
I was oooh, huh? When the second blue-haired one showed up and had style (thing I said that earlier in the post but I have been standing in the heat). Interestingly, note that itâs Madukeâs real inner circle who are allowed to/feel safe enough to have individuality - or their own staff of personal human servants to do tailoring/opportunities to go out there and loot jewelry.Â
5th and Kentas, who should be high-ranking, are wearing either Elder cloak uniform or Madukeâs - in Kentasâ case it makes sense as a humility thing (I bet he despises the people who get all human with their clothing, especially since itâs Madukeâs inner circle thatâd be behind the push to abandon honor - heâd view it as human contamination?) - clothing doesnât matter to real werewolves.Â
...Which would get him kicked into a cliff by his parents in my headcanon for werewolf culture, because of the effort they would have had to go through to have a culture. It makes sense that most of werewolf culture was (now-abandoned) warrior precepts, since in order to interact at all theyâd need to deal with their instincts, but âcivilizationâ comes from cities, and werewolves canât do cities.Â
As for werewolves having an art style, when stuff around them was getting constantly destroyed? My headcanon is that their art form was epic poetry recitations (at least semi-musical, since Iâm guessing a tonal language...).
Writing would be useless to them, worse than useless if they viewed it as a way to actually preserve information. Iâm betting they did a lot of composing heroic sagas to tell each other, managed to preserve a sense of culture through memory... and then the loss of the adults wiped out everything theyâd worked so hard to create and preserve
sailorramoon ha reblogueado tu set de fotos: quick drawing for the 100 color palette challenge!...
Honestly, regarding anatomy, the only thing I see you regularly have issues with are legs.
Not so much the legs themselves, you draw them fine, but the characterâs center of gravity doesnât line up with the foot (or else) on which they support themselves, so they look unstable.
That oneâs actually a very easy fix, all you need to do is imagine a vertical line. Gave Google a look to see if I could find a picture of what I mean, because I donât trust my ability to be concise, and hereâs an excellent page with multiple examples.
I think maybe itâs because youâre just not used to drawing characters all the way down to their feet (which are typically the least interesting part of a picture), and so donât pre-determine where the feet are before you draw the thighs? Because you never have the same issue with spines, so clearly itâs not that youâre not good at balancing.
Like, for instance, in this Zero picture, his back and arms balance the armor just right. Same for the head and hair, same for the hand and saber. But if you mentally extend his legs past the edge of the picture, then theyâll come out slightly off.
I really see what you mean, and I think it is a bit of both? I donât draw many full views anymore, and, the leg proportions for the MM characters is what it is...
But, I remember seeing the same problem with full human looking characters, so it is probably that type of mistake instead!
When Iâm drawing this type of thing where I only focus on part of the characterâs body, I donât always plan the full pose. That adds to the problem, probably? But that way I can push lines a little bit more and get a little more movement? Even if it is exaggerated? Hmmm
No but, I have sooooooo much problems with anatomy in general. Since I almost only post what Iâm already used to draw, maybe it isnât as apparent? But, the simplest thing I try to do out of my comfort zone... It becomes a mess most of the time. I really need to take studying anatomy more seriously, because it really would give me so much freedom. There are a lot of ideas I have had, and then I had to give up because they are way out of my skill, and that feels really bad...
Ahhhh thanks a lot for the feedback, and for the link! Iâll try to study it as sson as I can!
