There are several methods you can use to cleanse crystals:

Saltwater soak: Mix a solution of water and sea salt, and place your crystals in the mixture. Be sure to rinse your crystals thoroughly after the soak to remove any salt residue. This method is not recommended for porous or delicate crystals, as the saltwater may damage them.

Moonlight: Leave your crystals outside during a full moon to allow the lunar energy to cleanse them. This method is especially effective for crystals that are associated with the moon, such as selenite and moonstone.

Sound: You can use singing bowls, bells, or even music to cleanse your crystals. The vibrations from the sound waves can help to clear and purify the energy of the crystals.

Visualization: Hold your crystals in your hands, close your eyes, and visualize a bright white light surrounding the crystals. Imagine the light purifying and cleansing the crystals of any negative energy.

Earth: Bury your crystals in the earth for a day or two. This allows the natural energies of the earth to cleanse and recharge your crystals.

Remember to always handle your crystals with care, and be mindful of their specific properties and needs. Some crystals are delicate and may be damaged by certain cleansing methods.

Lately, I’ve been seeing many posts and discussions about how to cleanse your crystals, charge your crystals, yadda yadda, and I noticed people really like to dump them in water BUT don’t really specify which crystals are safe or unsafe with it in their posts, which is fine until someone ruins their crystal collection or worse, their health.

Thus, here I am with a quick list I made after some snooping around on the internet, enjoy!

The major water-unsafe crystals I found are:

Amazonite

Apatite

Apophyllite

Azurite

Celestite

Fluorite, which is worse in salt water

Gypsum

Halite

Hematite

Labradorite when immersed for too long

Lepidolite

Malachite

Opal, though Australian Boulder Opal is generally safe

Pyrite

Selenite

Tangerine Quartz

Turquoise

Ulexite

this list isn’t exhaustive of course, feel free to add more

In addition please note that: some elements, like mercury, copper and aluminum can be found in crystals and are toxic in high amounts. Quartz is only generally considered safe, and it doesn’t matter what kind of water you use - if it’s been blessed, if it’s moon water - water is water and will chemically affect your crystals so please take this into account!
