there was still so little he understood. about the world â about himself. he carries a unique type of light, one that could illuminate the deepest of shadows â so his mother told him. little sigurd wanted to ask her more about this light. yet, each time he tried to she would fight back tears, resting a gentle hand to his head before saying, â soon, my love â.
there was so little he understood.Â
elaine kept magic at a safe distance for as long as she could. she learned that sigurd would spend his entire life worrying about magic. for now, she wanted him to be a child. for his worries to belong to that of a child and nothing more.  until he was old enough to enter that world, the only magic he experiences is the occasional entity whom he might witness.  one entity in particular. she trusted her to prevent encouragement to his curious mind.  although, she did spark the young boyâs fascination more than his mother imagined.
there were times that couldnât be helped. with the growing conflicts within stella and the migrations of dragons, travel from the country wasnât always safe. just this once, she humbly requested aquarius to wait with her son for a few moments. she hates to ask this of her, but desperate times call for desperate measures. elaine disappears into the temple by the sea, the final time she would intend to see those walls, whilst the other two linger along the coastline.
the boyâs gaze fixates on the ground, the way the white sand pushes and pulls with the tide. he is hesitant to pass his stare to the woman heâs only seen briefly before. he finally does so with caution. sigurdâs glance is met with something unexpected. a smile, an ethereal aura emanating from her. Â
the young boyâs expression relaxes, hazel eyes widening before he too smiles back. amidst his look of awe, he speaks with a small voice,  â mum says youâre a . . . celestial. does that mean youâre like a star and you live in the sky ? â  eyes brightening with intrigue, he continues â how he loved to keep on talking once he started.  â  you know, she calls me her star. does that mean â iâll grow up to live where you do someday ? â Â
before he had the chance to hear the womanâs response, elaine returns to call him away, her gentle voice urging him to not bother her âcolleagueâ. his mother was usually considerate about keeping personal matters away from professional ones. since her letter from anna heartfilia, that feat became rather difficult. â come on dear, itâs time to go board the ship. âÂ
elaine beams a look of silent gratitude to aquarius, before pulling sigurd away by his tiny hand and closing her gate for the last time until they arrive in fiore.
NON VERBAL MEME.  âąÂ  selectively accepting !
