I could write a goddamn essay about how much i hate john winchester. like. not even just post-mary’s death john winchester but also before that. just because... okay john and mary were destined to be together, right? that’s not a real romance. so i don’t think she could see what he was. in my personal opinion (obviously feel free to disagree) john fucking winchester was an entitled asshole who would have been abusive either way. the small peaks we see into their marriage through the seasons reveal a john that would leave mary crying to grab a drink, that wasn’t really there for his family, that cared in the way that people raised in his generation cared and treated women just the same. 

and when i go off about this people have told me, but the john portrayed by matt cohen is such a nice guys and like ok OK that just proves my point how many abusers do you think are walking around with hooded eyes and scowls all the time like no. nope. john would have easily appeared like that, esp. to mary, until his mask fell. when she died.  

and after that... there’s no buffer between him and his kids anymore. i don’t think he was solely emotionally abusive i think he was physically abusive and i fucking hate him for it. and i think it was directed at dean either all the time or 99% of the time. 

so. yeah, i reallllly hate john.
