On the right, the title of Episode 14 isĀ āA Sort of Homecoming,ā an allusion to the song of the same name by U2. Iāve found so many layers to this achingly beautiful song over the years: returning to oneās childhood home, the return of the refugee, ghosts of soldiers streaming home from war. A final reading is the triumphant journey to oneāsĀ ātrueā home, the final entry to the Kingdom of Heaven after a life of tribulations.Ā
If the return to Earth was a āsort of homecoming,ā what will the ātrueā one be? Our remaining heroes are still alive and struggling, but I think this parallel foreshadows a thirdĀ reunion - possibly in the afterlife, but at least in a new existence that could be interpreted as such.
