Once More With Feeling is not an episode that just any TV show can expect to get away with. A beloved series in its sixth season has more leeway to experiment, however, and this insane idea not just works, it works brilliantly in unlocking the secrets held by every character of the show, and detonating a massive nuke on their relationships in a way that leaves you staring mesmerized as the dust slowly starts to settle.
When I started to watch Tabula Rasa after that, the thought on my mind was 'how is this episode going to fix the damage that was just done'. And that was so wonderfully naïve of me to think, because of course it didn't even try to do that. I totally did not expect Willow to drop another nuke of her own on the still smoldering remains. I can't take my eyes off the train wreck that is this season.
On a purely emotional level, I do not enjoy what's happening with Willow and Tara, but I appreciate the drama.
Also, I had to choose that moment from OMWF as the picture for this entry. Buffy running away from Spike as if she'd been stung legit had me in stitches.
