Welcome to week two of the new and improved WAEs! Don't worry you can still turn in your feet from last week.  However, it got me thinking. We have had a lot of artists come and go over the year, so how about we get to know each other and draw at the same time. So this week's theme is “Meet The Artist.” Take a look at the specific tag. Take a look at how other artists tackled the template. Its pretty simple, you draw a self portrait in any style and medium you wish, then list a few likes and a few dislikes. Done! Simple as that! Break out those tablets, pens and pencils its time go get going!

Because I'm an evil sadist, I'm going to start us on something I feel every artist says they have trouble on. Hands. Queue the evil laughing and the lighting, yesss YESSSSS! So to kick off the reboot I want to see hands, lots of hands, pages of hands, HANDS FALLING FROM THE SKY...ok maybe not from the sky but I do want to see a lot of hands. Man hands, girl hands, kid's hands, monster hands, old hands, broken hands, hairy hands, bulky hands, cartoon  hands, realistic hands, hands hands and more hands.

Going to move these to a weekly bases, simply because its easier on me and the artist, also it allows for people to explore and experiment more with the subjects versus rushing through the work to get it done within the 24 hour allotted time. That being said! Submit your work to S.T.A.G.! You have a week to work on the subject, feel free to submit any time between the time its posted to the next MONDAY. Giving you that full week and weekend to work on it. But please, don't feel obligated, this is meant to inspire and get you to work on things you wouldn't other wise do so, but this is by no way meant to stress you out! So have fun, create, explore, and keep those pencils up!

Today I streamed several sites that help drill you on gesture poses in quick, usually 30-60 second intervals. The idea is to sketch the form and become more familiar with the human body.

Next time I do a pose/gesture stream, I'll link you guys to it here! My goal is to hold one of these streams at least every other day, preferably daily.
