A little birdie told me you like dragons so as the designated korean™ i am legally obligated to infodump (I went into hyperfixation mode like once this is all I know about them):
korean dragons are generally like really chill and nature stuff they're associated with rain, rivers, lakes, prosperity, and good harvests instead of the whole fire and mayhem thing in western culture
they have magical wish granting orbs called yeouiju (여의주) but only the most powerful dragons get them
my FAVORITE thing about korean dragon lore is the imugi 이무기 it's basically this giant serpent/proto-dragon that spends centuries trying to become a true dragon depending on the legend it has to survive for like a thousand years, earn a heavenly jewel, or otherwise prove itself worthy. i just think WORKING to become a dragon is cooler than being born one
dragons were also symbols of kingship and wise leadership so they're all over royal imagery (my grandma has a cool as fuck White Pearl closet)
they can shapeshift into humans and generally just spawn in randomly
design-wise they've got the long snake body, deer antlers, whiskers, eagle claws (also different from Western culture as well as Chinese)
and compared to chinese or japanese dragons, korean dragons are usually portrayed as guardians rather than warriors they'll absolutely mess you up if you're disrespectful but they're like I said extremely chill
anyway thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about korean dragons because i think they're sick as hell 🫡
I LOVE YOU SO FUCKING MUCH
LOWK U DO NOT UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO GO ON A HUNT NOW 🥹🥹
Also, i think i do know abt the imugi cause i read a fic once and it had korean dragons (only the imugi tho >:/) and then i went on a manhunt
