hamuko is the messier one; ryoji can be a bit of a neat freak at times. he likes his spaces relatively organized, and ham generally doesn’t mind a mess.

    2.  do they fight often?

no, not at all; they might play-argue over petty things sometimes, but if either of them attempted to be mad at the other, they’d both probably break out laughing eventually.

    3.   who’s the funnier drunk?

I can literally guarantee it’s Ryoji, he probably gets super giggly and then once the alcohol level gets as high as it’s healthy to go, he probably gets super clingy and emotional. Hamuko probably finds this hilarious.

    4.  who’s uncomfortable with PDA and who loves it?

while neither of them are uncomfortable with PDA, ryoji is the one who’s most attached to it. he’s always touching hamuko somehow, whether it be hand-holding, brushing shoulders, putting his arm over her shoulder, etc. the constant contact is relaxing to him; subconsciously, this is probably because he’s never actually been physical and able to touch someone. it reminds him that he’s still here.

    5.  who texts more often?

ryoji probably, though they can both get into pretty long convos back and forth, generally just being idiots and making dumb jokes. ryoji likes to check in every now and again, and sometimes texts her with random thoughts or observations; ham doesn’t initiate the texts as much, though she’ll send him funny stories or random experiences from throughout her day.

    6.  big spoon/little spoon?

Ryoji loves being the big spoon, but sometimes I bet Hamuko thinks it's funny if she's the big spoon and is cold at night so she sticks her cold ass hands either up Ryoji's shirt or stick her cold ass feet into Ryoji's legs. Most of the time they probably actually sleep facing each other.

Ryoji was a fuckin flirt, let’s be real, but Hamuko probably got impatient and she was the one who kissed him first.

    9.  the most embarrassing music on their phone?

ryoji probably has some pretty emo music on there that he can relate to on some weird level, not that he’d ever admit it’s even there. ham found it once though, and he didn’t hear the end of it for a few weeks. also, junpei may have put thrift shop on there as a prank. ryoji hasn’t taken it off. he kinda likes it. don’t tell anyone though.

hamuko might have some weird obscure dubstep or chiptune music on hers, but her music taste is generally less cringeworthy. she is innocent.

  10.  what’s “their song”?

This is probably the single hardest thing I've ever had to think of, but I think a really good song for both of them is Human by Christina Perri. The stuff Hamuko went through, she always tried to stay strong but she had to break eventually and I like to think she went to Ryoji when that moment came. Same with him, too, he always tries to hold himself together for her, but the fear that their time was limited led him to breaking down too. Ryoji is more human than he thinks he is, and it takes someone who isn't technically human to remind Hamuko that she is one and does need to take some time to sort out herself every once in a while.

  11.   who reads more?

ryoji; ham is generally the more active one. though she reads every now and again, she’s prone to restlessness. ryoji has more of a capacity to focus on sitting still for a while.

  12.  who remembers anniversaries?

they both do, and they both do something special for each other, but ryoji’s the one who takes the more over-the-top romantic approach.

  13.   who is better with kids?

I HAD TO TAKE THIS ONE, personal headcanon comin’ up. Hamuko is wonderful with kids, you see the way she interacts with Maiko, but shit, I imagine Ryoji being the most loving father, like, even just the mental image of him holding and cooing to his child makes me want to cry. He’s always the one to wake up at night when the baby (haha bet your ass it’s Pharos) starts crying or needs to be changed/fed and when Ham wakes up and notices Ryoji isn’t back in bed she just checks the nursery and he’s sleeping in the rocking chair with the baby to his chest, both of them just slumbering away mmm kill me

  14.  who tops/bottoms?

While I imagine Ryoji being really gentle and always preferring to top, Hamuko probably gets fed up eventually, gives him the whole “you won’t break me if you’re a little rough” speech and gives him his first lesson about how missionary is not the only position that exists. (/top notch giggling)

  15.  what’s their favorite activity?

anything where they can spend some quality time together, whether it’s playing games at the arcade, cooking together, watching movies in a pile of blankets on the couch, etc.

ham likes to take weird pictures, specifically pictures of ryoji while he isn’t looking (she has a beautiful gallery)

ryoji is literally just a giant memelord. he has taken up memes as a hobby

ham initiates the fort and ryoji happily joins in, and much to mitsuru’s dismay, the fort probably spans the entire dorm lounge.

  18.  who cooks?

hamuko’s definitely the better cook; ryoji might be able to cook a few things here and there, but he’s actually pretty bad at it. that doesn’t stop him from helping her in the kitchen though, and sometimes they like to mess around and get into mild foodfights.

  19.   how do they eat ice cream? what’s their favorite flavors?

hamuko probably prefers cones and sundaes, maybe fruity ice creams and things like cookie-dough or mint chocolate-chip. ryoji’s insisted they share a milkshake on occasion because it’s a date thing he’s always wanted to do, and they do this every now and again. ryoji probably likes the more traditional flavors like straight-up chocolate.

  20.  who said “i love you” first?

ryoji was the first to say it, eager to understand what his emotions meant. he probably wasn’t even sure what it meant at first, if he was interpreting his feelings right, but when hamuko reciprocated, she helped him to understand.

  21.  do they go on dates? what are they like?

they like to go on your typical dates, movies, shopping, etc. their favorites are probably coffee dates, mostly because of the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to talk and just be around each other.

  22.  christmas traditions?

Really romantic stuff, guys, let me tell you. Ryoji takes Hamuko out to dinner and of course buys her flowers and she always takes one and puts it either in the hole from one of his shirt buttons or tucks it into a pocket or even sometimes behind his ear, they go out to see some Christmas light shows, drink hot cocoa together (and Hamuko probably kisses whipped cream off of Ryoji's nose), Hamuko probably buys Ryoji something really expensive but really practical i.e. a new watch or something he wanted / had been talking about and then when the clock strikes midnight into Christmas day they have their Christmas kiss. Literally throw me off a cliff

  23.  do they go trick or treating? who stays home and hands out the candy?

Before they have their first kid, they both stay home but they always dress up as something matching and really elaborate, like they probably dress up as Jack and Sally or the Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood, cutesy stuff like that and they love handing out candy and seeing all the kids' costumes. When they do have a kid / kids, f a m i l y c o s t u m e s

I can imagine them sneaking up to the roof of the dorm in November, bundled up in winter jackets to combat the cold, staring up at the stars. Hamuko teaches Ryoji about the planets and about the constellations, about the moon, and he soaks it up like a sponge and sometimes even falls asleep listening to her talk because he's so calm around her.

  25.  who’s the laziest?

this can be interchangeable. while hamuko is the more active one throughout the day, ryoji is the earlier riser and more of the morning person. ryoji’s more likely to complain about having to move from his spot on the couch, though.

probably ryoji, though most of it is joke complaining. he likes to pretend he’s over-dramatic, and ham just laughs at him and tells him to suck it up.

  27.  who wakes up earlier?

ryoji; hamuko’s not a morning person, though she’s more active later in the day.

  28.  who’s more protective?

both of them; ryoji will stand up for her and would take a blow for her if he had to, but hamuko is literally always ready to fight and will punch anyone who threatens ryoji without a second thought.

  29.   who gets jealous easily?

I don't think either of them get particularly jealous. That mutual feeling between both of them that they're just "whole" when they're together sort of gives them the peace of mind that neither of them are going anywhere with someone else in terms of relationships.

  30.   how do they cuddle? when and where?

mmm every second they get a chance. Even if it’s just sitting really close on the train into school, sitting close on the couch (sometimes with Ham even sitting on Ryoji’s lap or with her legs over his, laying down watching TV in her room so that Hamuko can rest her head on his shoulder or chest, side by side holding hands sharing her headphones, sitting on the school rooftop with Ham’s arm around his waist and Ryoji’s over her shoulder... kill me

  31.   how did they meet?

Well, in-game, he meets her as Ryoji when he transfers to Gekkoukan, and I like to think that in the everything-is-happy-and-nothing-hurts AU, they met for a short time as kids during a traumatic or stressful time for Hamuko and that's why they feel like they know each other.

  32.  what do they smell when they smell amortentia?

(/lowkey spell check) Anyways! I’m a huge HP nerd so this one, I call. Ryoji probably smells something sweet, like flowers and a hint of the shampoo Ham uses, maybe something that smells similar to her favorite perfume or lotion. Ham, on the other hand, smells something that’d probably be strange to anyone else. Sweat, metal, gunpowder, dust, the bitter smell of medical powders, something that really personifies the post-adrenaline of a fight in Tartarus. The reason why? That time was the time she spent side by side fighting with her best friends, people who were like her family, and even though it’s scary, those are some of her fondest memories because being partners in combat brought them really close.

  33.  what lockscreens do they have?

ryoji’s is probably a cute picture of ham or of the two of them being cute dorks. hamuko’s is probably a picture of the shit brigade (ryoji, ham, and junpei) doing something incredibly dumb. sometimes junpei takes their phones when they aren’t looking and changes their lockscreens to unphotogentic selfies he takes.

  34.  how many emojis do they use and which ones?

Hamuko rarely uses emojis unless she’s texting Junpei, and even then it’s low-key. With Ryoji she usually sends little hearts and sparkles and stuff. Now, Ryoji is the one you really have to watch out for. He has this idea in his head that emojis can get lonely and therefore overuses them. Ham doesn’t mind.

  35.  who throws ill-advised parties?

Ryoji probably throws surprise parties that either end up a huge flop or a great success just with a huge amount of cleanup. Either way, someone spikes the punch and then the party just gets MORE ridiculous, and a lot of times Ryoji plans stuff with Junpei who ends up inviting friends and then it turns into a huge mess

  36.  who sets the other’s ringtone to something loud and obnoxious behind their back?

HAM WOULD DO THIS because if you don’t think she’s a little shit who’s the mastermind behind all of junpei’s pranks (the ones that work, at least) then i think we’re thinking of the wrong person. ryoji wouldn’t be angry though, he’d honestly appreciate the joke.

I can almost guarantee Hamuko does this but it does not stop the almighty Ryoji in his quest for snacks

RYOJI. gotta bedazzle the scarf. he would probably wear those sequin pants that karamatsu wears and actually think they’re fashionable

Hamuko probably fucking hates High School Musical with a passion but Ryoji would sing stuff from it just to annoy her because he knows the only reason she puts up with it is because she loves him

  40.  who draws sharpie dicks on the other when they get blackout drunk?

H A M U and mostly it’s not even on Ryoji she’ll draw them all over Junpei probably and then write something really inappropriate on Akihiko and leave the sharpie in Junpei’s hand because she knows for a fact Aki will wake up first and her and Ryoji will probably just sit there laughing to themselves because they don’t even realize it until they look in the mirror / at each other

  41.  who uses chopsticks/can either of them use chopsticks?

Both of them are really good at using chopsticks! Though I'd really laugh if Ryoji didn't know how and Hamuko bought him a pair of those kids' training chopsticks like the ones with the finger holes yanno

  42.   when they can’t sleep what do they do?

ryoji is often prone to nightmares, and when he wakes up she stays up with him, huddled in the blankets, drinking tea or hot chocolate, maybe watching some tv with the volume down low. she’ll stay up rubbing his back or cuddling him until he falls asleep again.

  43.   what order do they wash themselves in the shower?

Hamuko always has to wash her hair first because either it’s got some kind of product in it or she woke up with it absolutely crazy, then most likely uses moisturizing body wash. Ryoji is lucky enough that he can probably go without showering for a day or two because all he really has to do is take some gel and just push his hair back. He probably uses 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash to save time / be simple. Some mornings they probably shower together or bathe together but not even in an inappropriate way, I’m talking Ham throwing bath toys at him and probably getting in soap fights, then washing each others’ backs like the cuties they are. Not to say bath time doesn’t get a little fun every once in a while, but more often than not it’s 100% innocent.

  44.  who impulse buys?

ryoji honestly, he’s the rich friend. where’s all his money coming from anyway??

  45.  who’s clumsier?

ryoji at times; he’s good at pretending he’s well-balanced, but sometimes he falls over trying to pull some suave move or some shit. he’s a nerd. hamuko relies on being quick on her feet too much to risk being clumsy.

  46.   what are their coffee orders?

I’m a barista so you know I’d have to take this one. I imagine Hamuko probably likes really sweet drinks, like white chocolate mochas or raspberry mochas. Ryoji is probably a really plain kind of coffee drinker, the farthest out he’ll go is a tea latte with vanilla and steamed milk. Hamuko also probably likes iced coffees all year round and Ryoji probably drinks hot coffees instead.

  47.  what apps do they have?

For sure Hamuko has Neko Atsume, probably twitter and Snapchat, she probably always has cute little countdown widgets to their next anniversary. Also she’s probably got either Spotify or Pandora so that when she cleans or cooks she can blast music and dance around the house. She also probably plays Candy Crush or something of that ilk. She’s probably got Skype too, so she can chat with Ryoji when he’s on break at work.

As for Ryoji, he probably also has Neko Atsume so they can trade tips about rare cats and compare each others’ progress in-game. He mostly uses the more low-key social media sites like twitter and only has a Snapchat because Ham probably made him download it. He’s practical and always worries so he’s probably got a weather app on there somewhere and then possibly Netflix so that when he gets bored he can watch something.
