Lately, Ryder seemed to be distracted. He wasnât himself and after Genâs departure from the Club (at least as far as Seth is concerned) and the town, Seth knew that the man was probably blaming himself for his own prospect being a lost cause. Ultimately, it wasnât his fault, at least not directly, considering Gen was never going to make it. And the only thing that Ryder could do now apparently was work. Job after job, Ryder asked for, trying to leave town or put his nose to the ground. Luckily, with the ongoing Club investigation, there was plenty for him to snoop on but as they neared the end of finding out what happened and why Finn and Maddox were shotâ the jobs are beginning to be fewer and fewer, considering other people needed runs to support themselves. Thatâs why after one of the club meetings, with Ryder asking for another job, Seth shakes his head ânoâ, finally laying down the reality that Ryder couldnât keep doing this. He looked tired and worn as it was, he couldnât handle more and he shouldnât be given more.
âLookâ I dunno what the fuck is up your ass all of a sudden but you canât keep takinâ jobs other people can do. I ainât got anything else for you. And whateverâs goinâ on with youâ I ainât askinâ if you ainât tellinâ but you need to fix that shit. You look fuckinâ awful,â he explains, far be it for him to sugarcoat the situation or the state of the redhead in front of him.
