I wanted to also say that If R did feel that he loved k more than she loved him he could’ve turned to B for validation and love, taking advantage of B being into him , it’s very apparent that b is a very loving and emotional person. I don’t think Ryan intended to string b along or use him for emotional gain , but he was there and comforting at the time. R was upset and B was there to catch his fall and love him when R was vulnerable. B wasn’t aware of this and was heartbroken about being “used”

( This ask is so long I’m sorry ) when everything went down and r left b was naive to the fact that r wasn’t in it as deep as he was, that could be why b still holds a grudge or is apprehensive about r now , he might feel used . It also could be why b immediately went into a long term serious relationship, bc s loved b just as much and he loved her and it was fulfilling for him to finally have that after such a long, on and off messy relationship/ affair.

Final thing I wanted to say is this is just a theory and I’m by no means saying r is at fault or bad person if this is the case!!!

yeah, most definitely! i think that brendon is a very loving person who gets very attached very easily & they were honestly just kids. ryan might’ve found relief in brendon because of the nature of his relationship with keltie, and brendon figured that out sooner or later. 

i honestly can’t say for sure how much ryan liked brendon back (i mean, to a certain extent, obviously) but if he did, the few reasons he might’ve chosen keltie was that, well 

b & him were in the same band, and usually couples in the same band don’t always end up great

it would be so much easier to tell fans that he had a girlfriend than to explain everything w b

possible internalised homophobia that made him repress any feelings he might’ve had

He also isn’t friends with Ryan and only mentions him when he’s telling stories in which Ryan is involved , other than that he isn’t friends with Ryan and doesn’t really have a reason to talk about him. I’d understand if he talked about Ryan nostalgically more years ago but now he’s probably over whatever happened to an extent. I think the only thing Brendon actually avoids is northern downpour

that’s fair! although i think comparing the amount he talks about pretty odd to the amount he mentions vices is ironic as one is right before the split and the other is… the Salt and Bitterness after the split (but i def know what you mean, i just think the comparison is funny) 

but yeah, i agree. apart from not playing a lot of pretty odd songs (which is understandable bc its a lot of Big Band music, although that can be debated since he brings a lot of brass onstage atm), there’s no particular “oh pretty odd? havent heard that name in years” attitude from him, especially recently. he doesn’t play much from fever either, and it’s normal that he focuses on new stuff. might i add that as a twtl stan im absolutely delighted that they added casual affair back? 

but yeah, in recent livestreams he’s been a lot more chill talking about ry, the split, and even listened to pretty odd (well, the first two tracks anyway) 

i’d love to hear your opinion on why he seems to avoid northern downpour, though: is it just bc of the emotional value that ryan attributed to the song or do you think it’s something else? 

(2/2) Sometimes I just worry about Brendon because of some of his newer lyrics, but also his lifestyle. He’s getting older too and sometimes I’m a little afraid he might take certain stuff too far yk. Also because he ‘lost’ a lot of people, his whole band as an example. Sometimes his body language just seems to be hiding unhappiness, and I genuinely think it has to do with unresolved stuff from his past. Ryan included. I just hope he’s doing well. Sorry had to just get that off my chest lmao bye

sorry to answer this so late but i’d just like you to know that this ask broke my fucking heart. i have a tendency to associate panic (and mostly panic’s history) with this bittersweet nostalgia and this very clear feeling of “could’ve beens,” as in if just one thing went another way, all those boys could be in a completely different place (which is obvious, but yk. in case there was a budding relationship or smth) 

a few days ago i was talking to a friend about brendon and i said that it seemed as though brendon was very fast to be trusting and to get attached, and a lot of times it backfired on him? 

they were obviously all very shaken by the split, which you can most definitely see in the making of video for v&v. one take that hit me hardest was spencer saying something like “yeah we’re still friends. we’re still talking” when it was obviously not true, along with that interview with ryan where he said “i thought i’d be in that band forever” there was… a lot of pain, and creative differences is definitely not enough of an excuse for this.
