It was... a chore, to sit up. The couch was warm, and the light filtered through the windows, catching the sunbeams in the dusty old bar, and Tatara Totsuka was playing the guitar, distantly across the bar--just far enough for the faint hints of strummed chords to reach Suoh.
He wasn’t singing, which was fine. Then Suoh’d have to pay attention to the words. It’d have kept him awake, wondering what Tatara was saying.
Suoh closed his eyes again, . Maybe he should’ve gotten up, done something like check on Anna or finding out if Kusanagi needed anything--but getting up meant... How would that man have put it?
